High Hrothgar, the Throat of the World

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 10:41 pm

I came across these texts concerning Skyrim's highest mountain, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:High_Hrothgar:

High Hrothgar is a settlement high atop the highest peak in Skyrim, the Throat of the World. Sitting atop hundreds of massive stone steps, here dwell the ancient Greybeards who endeavor to become more attuned to the voice of the sky. The Nords believe that they were created by Kyne when the sky breathed onto the peak of the mountain, which is also known as Snow-Throat. It is possible that Hrothgar has a mystical connection with the vanished Falmer.

The highest peak in the province of Skyrim (roughly in the center of the province) and the highest in all of Tamriel, not counting Red Mountain, the Vvardenfell volcano in Morrowind. The legends of the Nords state that mankind was formed on the mountain when the sky breathed onto the land. The Song of Return tells of the Nords returning to their original homeland from Atmora, when Ysgramor settled in Skyrim. Many pilgrims travel to the mountain and climb the Seven Thousand Steps to High Hrothgar, where the most ancient and honored Greybeards live in absolute silence to become more attuned to the voice of the sky.

Maybe I spent too much time in the realm of the Madgod, or it's just sleep deprivation, but does this mean Man is the end result of Kynareth deep throating a mountain? I guess after Barenziah's intimate encounter with Khajiit anatomy, the Tribunal's kinky bedroom antics, and Alessia's relations with a bull, this is the logical next step........ :bolt:

Given the amount of sixuality in actual creation myths, it shouldn't be all that surprising. Of course, you could also just take a literal sense of the thing...

I incur the laws of Sload Canon and monkeytruth to officially make this True Lore. We must make fanart at once.

Interesting find, I have never seen it this way.
But it sure brings a lot of thoughts to my tiny mind.

Any place with the word "throat" in it, is never too far from some sort of innuendo.

I don't know where you lot took your six-ed classes, but breathing on something's throat doesn't bear the slightest resemblance deep throating...

That doesn't sound like what happened at all. Khynareth breathed on a mountain, simple as that. It doesn't mean Khynareth polished the damn thing.

But it wouldn't be surprising due to TES's already rather sixual lore.

That sounds closer to the description. It felt too much of a stretch to say there was any sixual relation going on.

Muatra.

Molag Bal's seduction of Vehk.

The birth of Reman Cyrodiil ("AND HROL DID LOVE UNTO A HILLOCK.")

Alessia and Morihaus the Winged Bull doing the nasty.

Just off the top of my head.

The language here is "breathed onto". Doesn't imply anything of the sixual acts members are trying to make of it. This is the normal way a wind-deity would interact with the material world. There's been a well-founded request that this line of discussion not be pursued.

What if it wasn't her really breathing into the world, but day when she had a bad case of burping or gas?

So the Nords wasn't actually made into the world by purpose but by accident?
Now I can see why they're all so harsh if they have been hiding that facts for so long.
