Khajit Explorer

What would you recommend for skills? She will be a mage/explorer under the sign of the atronach. I think she'll have marksman and unarmorered, but unsure what else would be good for this character type. I plan to take her all over Morrowind and she will get into dangerous situations. She will join the mages guild and i'm not sure what else. Suggestions?

Edit: My character is insatiably curious. Though she tries to avoid confrontation and violence, she can't help poking her nose into everything. I'm modeling her on a sort of wandering Ajira. She must be able to protect herself. She will eventually do the main quest.

Maybe consider joining the temple or the imperial cult? That should get you around a bit :P

Suggestions as to skills to make this workable? I do like the idea of joining the Imperial Cult.

blunt so you can use stuff like staves
and illusion to demoralize or calm people who want to fight (if she is pacifist)

Name him Kookalicut Wasabimbam the ever so Intrepid Trodder. A good name is indispensable.

Unarmored will be useful, as will Mysticism, Restoration and Enchant. You could also consider Blunt weapons or Speechcraft.
If you want to join the Temple as well you should have Alchemy too (which you should anyway since it's very useful for characters under the Atronach sign).

Thanks for the advice! I created my character yesterday and she has sneak instead of mysticism and shortblade instead of blunt. But I've been happy with her so far. I'll have to find a trainer to build up mysticism. She's still a level 1 even though she's done everything in Seyda Neen. Which is good, I think. I don't want to level her too quickly. But I have to either start making potions soon or get the spell "summon ancestor ghost" because I've been caught in the wilds with a broken sword and no magicka and no way to make any magicka. Luckily I came upon a tomb with an ancestor ghost in it and was able to replenish my supply. I probably would be better off with blunt and mysticism, but I hate to start over now. I'll think about it. I was mostly thinking of shortblade for the jink blades with paralysis. But being able to "stave" people off would be good. Using mysticism is far more probable than using sneak. Maybe I'll start over.

Curiousity: Stealth, Security, Alteration <- Getting into places that are too far for a jump or behind locked doors and guarded.

Avoids confrontation and violence: Acrobatics and/or Athletics to run away from violence

Able to protect herself... well, that can be done in a multitude of ways. Alteration again, or perhaps Block?

Perhaps some Hand to Hand abilities to defend herself, if she really must?

Illusion is another good choice: making herself invisible to escape or to poke her nose into things that don't belong to her.

This idea sounds strangely like what I like to play most, by the way. Female Khajiit, and I call it "scholar". More or the Indiana Jones type than of the bookworm type though. Atronach as well. I run quite well and happily with:

Major:
- Speechcraft (scholars give lectures)
- Illusion (to spice up these lectures)
- Mysticism (interested in ancient myths and things)
- Stealth (sneaking into forbidden places)
- Enchant (interested in magic baubles)

Minor:
- Security (getting into forbidden places)
- Hand to Hand (a way to take down someone, if she has to)
- Unarmored (can't wear heavy armor, it would slow her down)
- Block (defending herself)
- Athletics (running away)

(or something similar to this.)

I am actually using Alchemy, Acrobatics, Conjuration, Short Blades and Marksmanship a lot. None of them are Major or Minors so that I don't level up all the time.

That sounds like a very interesting build, Lytha. However I did start over and this time I added mysticism and took out sneak. I made a few other changes as well. Unfortunately, my character isn't acting the way I planned for her to play. She doesn't hide. She's more aggressive than I intended. I have to constantly remind myself not to join the Legion or the Fighter's Guild. She will eventually join the Televanni House Guild when she is stronger. Now my problem is hammers. Even when I reset difficulty to -100 she still gets killed with 2 to 3 blows. Anyway, I'm glad I made the changes I did and I've been very happy playing her. Now to make her less weak or to use better strategies against her enemies.

By the way, she is level 6 now and leveling slowly which I like. She is currently doing the Imperial Cult Almoner quests and will soon return to Balmora to finish Ajira's quests and get some Blades training.

Sanctuary to evade the first hit, and then stab at the target with a jinkblade until he's frozen. Then change to your regular weapon and stab him for 8 seconds. Then switch back to the jinkblade.

Thanks, I'll try that!

For some reason I was not allowed to edit my last post.

Where can I find a jinkblade? I've looked in the wiki but it doesn't say where to find items. I haven't come across any so far.

The trader at Balmora's Fighters Guild sells a Dwemer Shortsword. Suboptimal (I prefer Glass Jinkblades, really), but it does the trick. :)

Thanks! I didn't join the Fighter's Guild, but I'll see if he will still sell to me.
