What fighting style do you plan on using?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 11:28 pm

O' course I will try all different fighting-styles. But for when I want the more realistic approach, there's only one option; Sword and shield.
Parrying with a sword that you'll want to be as sharp as possible seems like you know, not something one would want to do. But that's for realism.
I still think it's great that they give us all the options that they do.

I voted shield in one hand in magic in the other, giving me plenty of defense with the punch of a good destruction spell. Also voted dual magic the be able to cast two spells at the same time (like a conjuration spell and a shield spell at the same time)

This is why I wanted throwing knives back. You can have a weapon in one hand when they get close and throwing knives from a distance with the other.

Weapon + Shield mainly. Weapon + Magic on occasion depending on what foe I'm fighting. Turn Undead ftw! ^_^

Will also make use of a bow of course and, perhaps, dual wielding depending on what its like. If its a super fast constant slashing thing I'll probably not bother. If its more like the Spartacus TV shows display of dual wielding I'll give it a whirl and maybe stick with it. :)

Dual shields? uh..... (brain explodes)

I feel like the sword and shield on a really high difficulty is the way to go the first time around. I'm looking for an experience where I actually HAVE to use my shield or risk sever injury or death. that's what i love about the elderscrolls from a fighting fantasy standpoint - it's not about what weapon or armor you have, or your stats, it's about being skilled enough to know when to bring up the shield or weapon to block and picking your strikes carefully.

I want every battle i go into to feel like life or death - a game can't be immersive/interesting if you're character is never challenged.

second time playing i'll do the sneaky archer type.

1.bow
2.sword and magic
3. dual wield

bow is is effective for me, sword and magic for a nice mix, and dual wield for the cool effect

For my first char I'll go with two swords or two axes, and for my second char problably a bow and dual daggers.

Well, I'm going to play at least 3 different types of characters.
First character, iwll be a Nord Warrior of sorts. I'll be using duel wiled and 2 handed weapons on him.
Second character, will be a Breton or Altmer mage, so mainly just spells.
Third character, a Bosmer Assassin, will be using a single short sword and a bow.

dual magic
weapon/fist
hand to hand
dual shield
magic/shield

Dual wielding - HOTKEY - Dual Magic.

I REALLY hope there are hotkeys for switching between groups of weapons.

I cant really vote on this topic because there is no "all of the above". Because when i play elder scrolls games, i play it every way possible and play every type of character i can. Ive done it both with morrowind and oblivion. i dont even know what im gonna do for my first playthrough (mainly cus with the other games i always got halfway through with my first guy then made a new guy). I can see my first week playing this game and ill have like 4 characters all of different fighting styles and stuff on the go at the same time. It's just what i do with elder scrolls games. Now with the fallouts it was a little different, at least on those ones i finished my first character before starting a new one. I dont know why but with elder scrolls im never satisfied just playing the one character through straight till its done (at least not til ive made like 5 or 6 characters, THEN ill start doing characters from start to finish.)

1: BOW......assassin's/ranger types are the best....plain and simple.
2: Dual wielding ( daggers/or short swords )
3: Hand to hand....better be in....or i'll go ape [censored] !

But in one of my many playthrough's,i will this time try a mage/wizard too.
Magic looks way more appealing to me now.
Love paladin types too.
But...i just love the bow/stealth approach. :)

I like the cut of your jib.I plan on making a character from all ten races and each will have a unique fighting style.

I don't know really. I always feel like using magic is pretty cheap, so I'll probably just stay with a sword, maybe duel wielding weapons and a bow.

Just wondering what fighting style people plan on using in Skyrim. After watching the trailer I think I am sold on a thief type character so I chose the 10th option.I want to get really good at sneaking and using a dagger so I can slit as many throats as possible.Dont even need to use the other hand. :teehee:

I'm going with TWO daggers. :P
