Traversable?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:53 pm

I'm sure this has probably been discussed already, but I remember in an interview where Todd said the whole world is traversable. I would assume that would mean you'll be able to reach those steep mountain sides that you can't walk to. Do you think there's going to be a limited levitation spell/potion, rock climbing or some other alternate means of traveling to reach those nooks and crannies? What are your thoughts?

I think rock-climbing. Climbing hooks and a rope, anyone?

Could be skill based? I remember in Morrowind you had to get your acrobatics up in order to climb the mountains.

I imagined it being along the lines of multiple paths and walkways hewn into the mountains, and getting to one overhang above your head might mean finding a long winding trail that allows you to reach it. Levitation spells/potions would work too though.

That's the thing...from some of the images in the trailer mountains look very steep and probably do not have paths to those areas. l

Levitate would be nice to have again, but I'm hoping they'll have a way for non-mages to get past steep slopes and such.

The only problem with levitation is how to limit it when reaching the map boundries. I really hope levitation comes back because it looks like there's a lot to explore there.
