Streamline not working.

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:13 pm

I'll get straight to it. Streamline isn't cooperating. When I load my game (clean, recent save), Streamline does not initialize automatically. Ok, no big deal, I'll do it from the console.

So I type:
StartQuest SLini
And I get the thing saying that it is initializing, but it still doesn't work. It is not reducing my graphics to cope with low FPS like it's supposed to. Everything in the .ini file is at or near their default values, but I am still just sitting at 18 FPS in the most intense parts of Better Cities (which is where I need Steamline the most).

Can you help me?

(btw, I apologize for cluttering up these forums recently, but it's my first time modding. Don't worry, I almost have everything now  )

First question is, is streamline where its supposed to be on you mod list? By that I mean it should be on the bottom, no if ands or buts.

First question actually is: Have you used the patch for 3.1?
SL won't work without the patch.

Yes, I am using the 3.1 patch, and I moved Streamline to the bottom of my load order, but it still isn't working. I don't get any text telling me that it is initializing when I start, and if I use the StartQuest SLini command, it says it's initializing but still doesn't work.

Additionally, pressing CTRL+Home in game doesn't bring up any kind of menu.

Can other mods interfere with Streamline's ability to reduce graphics?

The first question actually is - as you're not mentioning it - are you using OBSE and loading the game via its launcher?

Yes, I launch with OBSE.

Here is a video displaying the issue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=strtjQOwoOU

Question still stands, are other mods preventing my graphics from being lowered? (EG, if I have QTP3 Redimized installed, is that preventing Streamline from reducing the textures?)

Is the streamline ini in the correct folder?
"C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Streamline\INI Files\sl.ini"

If it is, try putting a new copy of the default sl.ini in there.

And could you post your Streamline ini? - Perhaps something is off with that.

The only thing I know of that does conflict with certain parts of Streamline, including Streamsmooth, is Oblivion Stutter Remover.

Ah ha, it wasn't in the right spot. The "Streamline" folder was missing in between "Data" and "INI files." Now it works. Thanks!
