FRANKY!!! We PS3 players need you to send your super pony army to find the hackers and prevent them from messing with the PS network again.

I am sorry, fellow Brony. But I am a PC player, so alas, we cannot play together, nor can my Pony Army assist you.

On Thursday Sony was doing some last stage tests so I would imagine that by the time BRINK launches we should have our PSN up and our Playstation+ trials as well.

On a personal note after reading various forum threads that have made my head hurt:

My favorite thing about the whole PSN attack, despite which hacker group or individuals did it, that I find funny is why people are angry at Sony. I am mad at Sony for taking so long to come forward when they knew what was wrong and I fault them on that. People blaming Sony for letting this happen do seem to overlook the fact that people took criminal actions and broke the law for this to happen.

If Sony knew the dangers, knew that there was an imminent threat to those of us with PSN accounts, and did nothing about it because they did not care that is one thing. Criminals breaking the law because of a personal grudge and stealing information from 77 million people should take the blame that is due to them.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/05/05/sony-offering-free-allclear-id-plus-identity-theft-protection-in-the-united-states-through-debix-inc/ some basic info on what there doing to prevent this again, Including a 1 Million Dollar insurance policy on everyone's account.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/05/05/a-letter-from-howard-stringer/ a letter from Sony's CEO, Howard Stringer.

At the latest, PSN should be up by Sunday..

But we've heard that before. I'll believe it when I see it. :stare:

It hasnt been down for over 2 weeks. Its only been offline for 8 or 9 days i think, not more than 9. Supposed to be up by the end of the week they were aiming to have it up by thursday but that didnt happen. They did fix the servers they are just turning regions on one by one. Japan was first and US should be up and running by the end of the week. If not hopefully monday at the latest /fingerzcrossed

PSN has been down for over 2 weeks, didn't it go down around Easter? Pretty sure the hacking occured 17/18th April.

Anyway, at least we get a bunch of free stuff for all the trouble.

if you kept up to date on news you would know SONY released a post yesterday that said it will be back up in a couple of days. So before tuesday looks possible :).
THough it's still going to be releasing in waves, so each region will be getting it at a different time and features will come back in waves.(different days for each).

Get your facts straight:

The Japanese PSN is not up.

Whining will not make it come back up faster.

The PSN had good quality protection which was hacked by people intent on causing damage to Sony. Now they threaten to do it again as soon as the PSN comes back up, including sharing/publicising your personal data. This is Sony's doing? No, this is criminals' doing.

Sony owe us nothing but security, so demanding gifts for a service you never paid for is pointless.

You don't like Sony: go XBox or PC, problem solved.

from what i've heard Sony's security protection was out of date and they were warned about it. with the threat that came out today( the hackers plan to attack again this weekend) i'm not even sure they'll be ready for Brink's launch. svcks for us who own a PS3, which is why i'm glad i own a 360 as well. Having both systems is just smart.

And VERY expensive. Even more so with xBox live.

Sony had to rebuild PSN from scratch, its a lengthy process. Anyone who says PSN is going back up on this date or that date is a liar, i don't care what sources you got it from. Unless its from the official ps blog, its not true. All we know as of now is that they are in the final stages of bringing PSN back up.

Wow, that really svcks for all you PS3 guys. I feel bad for ya. Honestly, I can't believe Sony let that happen. Considering you put in your credit card # you'd think it would be pretty damn secure. Hopefully Sony learns from this and doesn't let it happen again.

I'm probably getting BRINK around the 21st. Partly because of try-before-buy syndrome, and partly because PSN's slightly more likely to be up by then.

I don't blame Sony for being hacked. If they were warned about it, and let their security slip, then they should certainly be reprimanded, but I'm not going to join the "OHEMGEEZSONYsvckZXBOXR00LZ" brigade. It's not their fault that they were hacked.

Plus, we're getting plenty of compensation. With all of the freebies we're getting, and the scale of the attack on Sony, they should be allowed to take their time in repairing PSN.

They should just say "we have nu clue when it will be up.. it will be when it is.." instead of: a full day or two, then within a week, then within another week, then soon..

With the PSN I'm taking it with a "We are going to be back up. Yep. At a point in the future we will be back up."

But soon does means they have no clue when it will be
Also "it will be when it is" is such a blizzard response. Fan "when will d3 be out" blizzard "right after its done."
