Pretty clothing for a female redguard

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:45 pm

Well with all the pormo, semi-pormo clothing mods out there I wasn't able to find any nice clothing modder's resources using the search engines. But, what you gonna do as the internet is for porm.

Anyway, I need some clothing that look nice on a female redguard (though, I'm sure that any female clothing would do). It can be revealing, but not something you would see in the Red Light District of Amsterdam, but I am primarily looking for something pretty and stylish and not whorish.

Oh, and most importantly of all - the meshes can't require any prettier body mods.

You should consider using a body replacer as most clothing/armor are made for those. Check out Sinblood's and Korana's mods at TES Nexus for some nice clothing/armors. I agree with you that it's a bit hard to find clothing that's not skimpy. I asked about it http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1107662-mod-detectives-116/page__view__findpost__p__16260394 and got some nice tips - that's for HGEC, though.

I really wish to avoid using a body replacer. Also, the clothing/armor I'm looking for shouldn't be a dress (at least not those big fluffy dresses).

You could infiltrate the Hammerfell project and steal one. If the stuff they can make is half as good as the concept art it'll be fantastic. They probably haven't got that far yet though, so your efforts would be in vain.

Are there any vanilla clothes that you like? Just so we have an idea of the kinda of things you're looking for.

There aren't any I really like but I also don't dislike them. Also, I really don't think that adding more boundaries would be a good idea, as I already stated that they shouldn't be too skimpy and that they shouldn't require body improvement mods. That pretty much narrows it down.

Pretty dresses may be designed for a specific body mod, but if they don't show any skin, it honestly doesn't matter if you're using that body mod or not. Your character's shape might change, but that's all. The clothes will still work, the game will still load, etc. The vast majority of clothing out there is designed with body mod use in mind, so you're going to have to relax your download criteria if you want to expand your wardrobe.

As most clothing/armor are made for body replacers since a long time I think you've basically narrowed it down to robes released years ago, such as Vermillion and Silverthorn Robes, Tegeal's Extra Robes etc.

I know this isn't precisely what you asked for, and... well, it's actually (in part) what you were (are?) determined not to use, but the following still came to mind:

http://amito.freehostia.com/Oblivion/OB-mods-Part2.htm#bab ... If you have a quick read there, and check out the images, perhaps you'll see what I mean?

Anyway, best of luck. Hope you find what you are looking for. :)

edit: There are also some amazingly good clothing/armour/accessories mods for BAB - some of which are also on that page.

Important question I'm surprised nobody has asked. Is this for the player or an NPC? An NPC can be given an outfit and even replacement hands and feet to match that won't fit anyone else. The items just have to NOT be marked playable, so the incompatibility with the player character's body isn't an issue. That lets you use clothing intended for general use with a body replacer, but without requiring the body. You're stuck with a standard head, so the neck seam has to match, but all the rest can be custom parts for that NPC only.

I do not use any body re placers at all. I do use a mystic elf as my PC. The Athol dresses work fine on my pc. http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=31246

I also downloaded the apache goddess shop and use all the dresses from that shop with no problem. I just do not buy the skimpy items. The gowns are very pretty and work with my pc very nicely. ( look for the long skirts and boots.) I was able to mix and match clothing to come up with outfits that fit the Oblivion style fashion with no body replacers.

Those athol dresses are very pretty .

Pardon me for asking, but why? All body replacers come with undie versions if the concern is nudity. Can't see the issue with having better looking bodies personally.

Indeed. And that's the *default* with BAB, for example. Though that might be a rarity...

But certainly, if someone wishes to not use body mods, I'll not argue (any further ;)) - to each their own.

I am searching... and have only found a couple so far, and only one of them *might* be at all relevant (I'll add more here if I find any) -

Does http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3975 offer anything that appeals? http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7141, perhaps?

My god, I feel your pain. It seems like most clothing mods out there are ones my female characters wouldn't get caught dead wearing. I've played pirates and bandits who've shown more class!

I think I will try searching again.

Well if you wont use stuff that requires body mods you are missing out on 99% of the stuff out there. Not heard of a single person making default body clothing or armor. Not after body mods came out at least. Sure you will find some stuff from right after the game launched but thats it.

If your into pirates you probably need something like this http://a.imageshack.us/img834/4474/oblivion201008172232497.jpg . Perfect outfit for a captain.

I wish to avoid any better bodies mods because I do not need the clothing for myself but for the mod that I'm working on and I don't want to require people to install many additional mods simply in order to play my mod. Someone asked if the clothes need to be playable, they don't as I need it for an NPC.

Anyway, thanks for all the links and keep 'em coming. I'll check them out in the morning as I am rather tired now.

Cheers :)

Corepc is too modest... check out all the items in his sig. Armamentarium Complete, Artifacts and Classy Clothing all have items worth looking into, depending on your taste, and support for vanilla bodies. I am personally enjoying Classy Clothing right now, which adds some much-needed variety to lower-class shirts.

Vanilla compatible...vanilla compatible...

RavenWear and GC Draqed Gowns were already mentioned, and they are some of the best-looking (in my opinion), so definitely check on them if you havn't already :)

There's also some http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=1616, and the http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5120.

I particularly like the purple & gray darker velvet outfit, and the red top in RavenWear.

I like the darker velvet outfits. Think I'll try one of those. Thank you, Ashiraniir.

And thanks everyone for giving me so many clothes to choose from :)

http://tesnexus.com/downloads/search.php could be interesting to you for your pirate themed mod. If it says that it's for some other body, that doesn't mean that you need it. Just the shape will me slightly different.
