No collector's edition?

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 4:21 pm

I pre-ordered Brink from Gamestop a few weeks ago, but they couldn't find a collector's or special edition in their computer so I placed an order and figured it was an oversight of some sort.

Frankly I didn't think it was possible to have a game published by Bethesda and not have a collector's edition. No CE shows up on gamestop, best buy, or steam. So... no collector's edition? Seriously?

(on a side note I might just buy it from Best Buy over Gamestop for the fallout theme dlc over the doom one.

Bump. I see some people saying they ordered a special edition but I can't find one for the life of me on any store site. Is it restricted to certain (non-US) locales?

I remember hearing about a Steel Book edition. It was never available to the US, however. :sadvaultboy:

Lame. Every game I've bought from Bethesda (made or just published by them) I've gotten the Collector's Edition when I could. Was hoping to do the same here.

Yes but it only has a steelbook case, and it is not worth ot for how much it is.

And not all beth games need a CE of it, and Brink is a new IP.

Yep! The Steelbox edition is sold in the UK region. It only has some postcards and one of the pre-order exclusives. Nothing worth 100 bones for. :shakehead: <_<

Oh well at least we're not missing out on much. Not as bad as Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. Wanted to get the big Codex edition but they weren't offering it in the US. Had to settle for the digital deluxe edition.

well think about it you yanks get to play the game a couple of days before the rest of Europe so you have an advantage of weapons and unlocks. so we in the UK should have special editions that have weapon unlocks in them.

New IPs rarely get Anything special. They wouldn't want to waste money making both a normal version and a CE version.

I don't see a CE for Brink since it isn't really publicized(Spell check?). Maybe if a Brink 2 or something like Brink were to come out, then a CE would be a little more possible.
