What if they postponed other games in progress for Skyrim?

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 9:48 pm

I'm not trying to sound like a dush, but Bethesda is the best gaming company in the world. What i'm trying to say is all their games are great, But...

What if the postponed all their current games in progress to work on Skyrim?

Do you think the release date will come earlier?

No way it comes earlier - It never comes earlier, beside - they had big plan already years ago 11-11-11, so why the hell change it ?

The team is pretty big already and as far as I understand they only work on the one project (more or less) at the time, so I don't know if it would do much good. However, if it did make a difference and would put the game up for release say the summer holidays? I am not actually a gamer, I just love the elder scrolls, and I am also very selfish so I couldn't care less about the other games :celebration:

I truly doubt this idea is plausible though...

Why change it? i already mentioned that. "8 months is so far away". I've never waited over 2 months for a game release.

Do you think the release date will come earlier? I think it would be a great idea because 8 long months is so far away, and i wanna play the game so bad after watching the gameplay trailer. What do you think?

Definitely, I look more forward to Skyrim then another Fallout, Rage, etc. I doubt it will, but its good to hope.

It would take a catastrophic act of nature to delay it,or a really big hitch which even then would be like 1-2 months. In fact, when cod tanks this year from poor choices on activisions part,I will bet my ass they blame Skyrim.

At this point in devel, it would change nothing and they wouldn't do it.

These games are not slapped together, rather they run by a rigorous project plan with milestons and objectives - Todd would have gathered the team he needs early-on.

With the date set, even adding more won't change that. It could add more awesomeness, but I don't see anything changing the date.

They won't. Because in the end it all comes down to money. All companies want it, but some try to make good games to get it. Bethesda is one of these. They will not stop to work on one game, but they WILL try to make that game good.

Bethesda hasn't announced that they are working on any other games, so that seems like a silly question... Unless you're confused in thinking the team who make the Elder Scrolls make the other games that Bethesda has announced? Hunted, Brink and Rage are all made by other game studios and just published by Bethesda. Zemimax Media has a subsidiary called "Bethesda Game Studios" that develops games including past Elder Scrolls Fallout 3, and another one called "Bethesda Softworks" that publishes games. I think employees from both are in their main building though.

What other games? Unless they've got their hustle on and started on Fallout 4, Skyrim is it.

Do you think the release date will come earlier?

No. They've said they've got 100 people working on Skyrim...

One would assume its common practice to have all available people working on the current project. Anyone not needed at the time or any more are working on the next project. So no matter what, Skyrim is in as full production as humanly possible. No reason to have 20 people for a 2 man job, catch my drift?

It don't think it would release early - they'd be asking for trouble. If it was, and any bug or glitch was found, people would be up in arms about how they rushed the game, focused on getting it out and sold before polishing it up etc.
