a question about weapons?

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 11:57 am

so i was bored at work today and got to thinking about brink and the weapons we get for pre ordering, and i was curious if people who dont have the psycho or spec ops pre orders will be able to pick up and use the cesar or the hockler mp? are the guns technically dlc or are they already on the disc and we r just unlocking them with the codes? was bugging me just thought i would ask see if there was someone with an answer!

p.s. i know theyve said they dont plan to release guns later, but if already on disc my thought is they would imo though, although medal of honor didnt that i know of with the mp7 which is the main reason im getting the spec ops from wallyworld.

Strictly Pre-order bonus sadly, mind you I am definitely not against SD to making the weapons DLC, maybe adding a few other weapons as well would be epic too.

the hockler has the same stats at the belgo mp and the caeser has the same stats as the ritchie revolver, so youre not missing anything, it just looks different, which can still be cool but it doesnt give anyone an advantage

You can't pick up guns off of somebody's body, so no.

Could have sworn I read somewhere that you can, but ammo counts being what they are in Brink - 2 spare magazines on average - you're liable to pick up a weapon with only a few rounds in the magazine and nothing to spare.

I have no doubt they'll be released as DLC at a later date.

@MacDuffin/tomzilla89 pretty sure it was in the latest interview with Richard Ham on fragworld.org that he confirms they're pretty much re-skin'd/re-audio'd versions of the vanilla models.

nope, according to this brink strategy guide i bought because i needed to use a gift card i have received they are the same, except for "delay between bursts" but both are automatic so i dont understand how that matters

Q: Do the pre-order weapons have their own, unique stats, or do they share the stats of other weapons, with a different model and skin to represent it? How do they balance out against the stock weapons?

A: All of the pre-order weapons mimic the stats of guns that are already in the game. The pre-order weapons do have new looks and in some cases new sounds. Also, since this has been asked quite a bit, if you have multiple pre-orders codes for different offers, you can use all of them in one copy of Brink to get all of the goods

to me that leaves a little wiggle room for slightly different stats imo, keyword to me is "mimic". thank u for the info on where to find this!

PRIMA guides -in my experience- tend to have a fair amount errors in them, so it could be that someone wasn't paying attention when they reviewed the final version before printing or SD made a change in weapon balance after the final version of the guide had been accepted.

Either way we'll all find out in 3 days and even though I'm not really into strategy guides, I would still take a PRIMA guide over Brady Games guide :P

That got changed.

No picking up other people's weapons.
