There is so many tips about Daggerfall in a broad manner, its not even funny. Of course, the universal tip for ALL RPG is save often, and it is no stranger here.

As for trouble, I dunno what trouble ya got into so far. If its character creation, just experiment with builds, dis/advantage, race, etc. Race wise, only the High Elf (immune paralysis) and Nords (Cold Resist) have ability. Other than that, race is just for looks.

Its usually important that if one were to do a "tutorial questionnaire" about ya history, get either the "Ebony Dagger" or the "Silver Staff" choice as these can kill the first imp/ghost ya run into (of course one can run from it).

One can config their control to how one like, and one can use mouse view in the option.

Here some good reading to it as well:

If one needed specific help in a certain area, just ask away. Just take it slow and enjoy the game. BTW, welcome to Daggerfall.

Hey I just started playing Daggerfall too, yesterday. First of all change the option to mouse view, or something like that. With that option the way you walk and look is the normal way, like tes3 and 4. Then you might want to change the use button (not sure if it's the use button) from the mouse right button to the left mouse button. Then change to full screen, so that menu on the screen bottom disappears.

Then if you can't get out of the first dungeon (called privateer's hold) http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:Privateer%27s_Hold.

And the last thing I learned was that walking around is stupid, you'll see nothing else but random trees and rocks. If you want to go somewhere, press 'K' to go to the travel map, and use fast travel.

Good luck and have fun :goodjob: I'm sure you'll like daggerfall if you don't mind those graphics lol... I'm trying to enjoy the game without paying attention to those pixels :banghead:

Insert= Up
Delete= Down
Shift=For strafing
J=Jump
W=World map
M=Local map
D=Crouch

Also, if you don't already know, night is very dangerous in Daggerfall.

That's all I know, just spent 2 hours getting it to work :celebration:

So, if you find anything useful out, like locations or anything (Small towns randomize, I've heard) post it here, or something because I'm nooby at this too.

Make sure you activate the mouse look option, so you look around with your mouse like in modern games.

When your character is 'out there' in the nowhere, if you sleep, an enemy will appear. From the north. Only time I ever encountered a Dragonling IIRC.

Oh my god this helped so much! After spending an hour dying over and over trying to get out of the first dungeon I have been wandering around forever seeing the same things!
