Unofficial Stargate Thread

If there is already one of these then feel free to lock it up.

I know there are some Stargate fans here so I hope this thread becomes useful.

So those of us who saw the finale of Universe, y'all thinking a revival or movie in three years?

Meh to the finale... svcks that they scrapped the movie that would have given an ending.

Didn't like Atlantis too much.

I absolutely loved SG-1 and Atlantis. Must've watched every season of both at least 5 times. Gave up on Universe after about 4 episodes though... it just didn't feel like Stargate. The cast was boring, and it felt more like a drama than a military sci-fi.

As much as it pains me to say it, I think the franchise has about run it's course. Looking back, they should've kept Atlantis running for a few more seasons and just not bothered with Universe...

Interestingly, SG-1 had it's 11th season all planned out before it was canned, and SGA had it's 6th season all written and planned and ready to shoot before it was canned.

I like Stargate Atlantis

Me too, I never really got into SG1. I like the concept of these people trapped far away from home with the door home staring them in the face the whole time.

Honestly, I found the last two seasons of SG-1 with the Ori storyline to be very hit and miss... so I wasn't too disappointed to see SG-1 canned. It had a great run. SGA on the other hand definitely ended prematurely in my opinion.

I like all 8 seasons of Stargate SG-1, plus the standalone episode 200 + the movies. The movies don't make much sense, though, with these new "Ori" enemies appearing out of nowhere

Atlantis is good too, but in dire need of the speculated movie. I want those damned Evil Asgard explained!!! :swear: Introducing them without fleshing them out was EVIL

And I don't know what you mean by "Universe" I keep hearing about this "Universe" thing, but no such season of Stargate exists.

I loved all the mythology and sci-fi stuff that went with it - but after the 5th season, it kinda fell flat.

Watched all of SG1 last year, and am well on my way of seeing all of Atlantis. Not really interested in Universe tbh, from what I've heard they ditched the whole stargate part of Stargate and revved up the grimdark.

I like Universe the most really, i thought the cast was outstanding and they became a family quicker than anyone else and I dug that. It was said to see it get canned early like it did. You could see it in the writing they were upset about it too.

Actually, today I saw the last episode of Stargate: Atlantis. It aired for the first time over here.
I didnt know it was the last episode but the ending was so.. odd.. that I thought Id do some googling.
And I found out it was the last episode and I also found out there are only two seasons of Universe :(

Im not really happy about there being no more new stargate because I did enjoy the shows, even though I was never a hardcoe fan enough to google stuff about it.

Well, at least the second season of Universe hasnt aired here yet and I have that to look forward to.

I hope there will be a new series in the franchise eventually, or that maybe Universe will get another go.

I think it sill because Stargate is, IMO, the new star trek, and you don't have nearly five hundred episodes of omer ing and not have a loyal fanbase. I think we will get another series, maybe not this year but probably in three years we will hear some news.the writers have to be exhausted, theyve put nearly 15 years into this, I'd be tired myself. I think they need a break for one, and to also get back to that winning formula.
