character creation question

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 11:26 pm

ive read some of the guides out there on how to make a good character but none of them seem to go over getting good skin color. my problem is im trying to make a char that is pale due to the fact that she's a assassin and works mainly at night... she will also be my main char for the unholy darkness mod about to come out. my problem is that i no matter what i do i seem to have red highlighting in the skin tone and cant get rid of it. i am using the body seam reducer mod and natural faces together but i doubt that has anything to do with it. is there any tips, tweaks or mods that could help with this?

1) Make a save profile for creating faces.

2) Import faces into a face library plugin which can be loaded into TESCS for fine-grained tweaking.

3) Import the face into a save with the necessary plugins loaded and look at the face in a variety of lighting situations: starting cell, outside in the sun, in interiors, clouds weather, at night, etc. Do not depend on TESCS lighting or lighting in one location.

4) I would go with Improved Facial Textures over Natural Faces, and install Caps Admin's Smooth EGT for whatever head your character will/may use.

Edit: What body replacer and races are you considering? There are different textures available to match the different bodies.

For the better results (IMO), I'd just use a custom race and not bother with vanilla at all. Xenius' Race Compilation, for example.

The problem with BP is the eye mesh. It uses Elaborate Eyes. However, Xenius only uses new races, right? It should not overlap with BP at all if it is using its own eye meshes. If it is using the vanilla eye mesh, then there will be a compatibility problem. Honestly, there are other cosmetic compilations that offer nearly as much or more that do not use the elaborate eyes mesh: All Hair and Eyes, More Hair and Eyes, Cosmetic Compilation, and a giant cosmetic library mod (just an ESM for adding to your custom-designed races) etc.

Edit: Since you are using HGEC, you will have no problem finding textures.
