[REQ/Idea] Player participate in fallout behavior

Post » Thu Aug 19, 2010 3:56 am

Are there any mods that allow the player to participate in fallout behavior with an NPC, given the player is at a close enough range to another NPC?

Erm, you can..... In fact, in oblivion, you can talk to any NPC, they may only have Rumors for a topic though.

:/

OUTSIDE of dialogue. Conversation with NPCs, as in topics that appear under the conversation tab in the CS, not dialogue. You know, the random topics you'll see two NPCs talking about. The emporer, mudcrabs, whatever.

Oh, you mean NPC's chatting each other up? Ok. My bad. Confusion reigns. :D

NPC's do converse to a limited extent, I think FO just expanded on that idea. not sure if the same system could be implemented in oblivion or not. I don't do dialog. :D

The system is already implemented.. "Fallout Behavior" is what it's called...in the oblivion cs, it has nothing to do with bethesda's game "Fallout 3." As long as the current AI package on two NPCs do not have "Skip Fallout Behavior" (fallout, meaning a secondary effect) flagged, when they are near, they will talk to each other "How are you?" "Been better" "Oh, any news from the other parts of tamriel?" "Nothing I'd like to talk about."

Perhaps you should the change the title and wordings on the OP? ;) Something like "player's character automatically chat with NPCs on itself"

HeyYou was just trying to be helpful. It's not his fault that you are using a term that many people (even modders) may not necessarily understand, especially with the limited amount of explanation you provided.

That being said, it is likely possible, though difficult and would probably require OBSE.

As was I.

All modders familiar with quests/AI/dialogue I know of know what fallout behavior means, but that's beside the point.

So...you walk through the Imperial City and suddenly you character starts to chat about mud crabs with a random NPC?

If you're trying to be helpful, it's not coming across terribly well.

That seems to be what Hiei wants. The problem is the player character doesn't really "talk" like the other NPCs do. At least, using SayTo, Say and StartConversation don't work like they do when two NPCs talk to one another.

Was my explanation not clear?
