Also if you are thinking, 'thats all BS, just because someone has a different colour tint, that doesn't make them different!' I would agree with you there, i wouldn't really say that person is necessarily 'different'.

But consider this, there are about 4,530,240 Unique Resistance Characters (not counting minor tint variations or body types) + on the flip side there are 4,530,240 Unique Security Characters (not counting minor tint variations or body types)

Thats a total of over 9 million different characters (not counting minor tint variations or body types). If thats not enough customization, i don't know what is.

There is no way there is going to be over 9 million players on any console at any given time.

what brink has/had on COD:

-customization: seems half assed.
-team play: do you really expect team play with the ability for lights to run all over the place? with the team split up in different speeds, team play will be minimal.
-smart button: great BUT, read the above. they will contradict one another.

i hate cod, but dont expect brink to take down cod.

well put i despise COD as u just run around in circles firing.

Last time i checked gameplay was more important to a game then customization. Sure we all love to make our characters unique but many, many games have less or no customization at all.

The gameplay should make or break your decision, not what color your hair is going to be. While rocking a red mohawk will probably look nice, the other team is not going to give a rat's a**!!

just to be clear i am still purchasing this game and cant wait to have it Tuesday, i just needed to voice my opinion as it seems that developers are half-assing a lot now-a-days on video games and it bothers the [censored] out of me. i am an avid gamer and have been all my life. normally i play mil-sim games and tactical shooters, the more realistic the better for me. i decided to suspend that belief to try this game, so i hope i am not let down.

Is this guy serious? I mean, this is still the best Appearance Customization I have EVER seen in a shooter. The only place you're going to see anything better is in an MMO.

glad u linked it, but still disappointing as someone having darker tint skin with a mask on will look exactly the same as someone with lighter tint skin with the same mask on, so that cuts a considerable amount of customization options i guess i will just have to wait and see if the game is solid or not

Even without the skin tint, there are:

Security:13,590,720(without tints,but including body type)

Resistance:13,590,720(withouts tints,but with body types)

Security:4,530,240(not including tints,or body types)

Resistance:4,530,240(not including tints,or body types)

and heres another link which i think looks better,no offense to the other link, but still:

"Half-assing?" Really dude? Have you even measured all the factors.

1. SD is small company. They had well over 100 people during much of development. They are also a PC company. They had to hire a lot of outside people just to develop this game. The first CC vids lack a HUD because they didn't even have a GUI coder yet.
2. It is multi-platform, meaning they can only include as much content as the lowest common denominator (xbox) allows. Between the graphics, sounds, models, animations, and all other content, they could only make enough to fit on a standard DVD.
3. The options available are of top quality in appearance. They look professional and definitely not "half assed."
4. On top of character customization, there is also customization for every weapon in the game, not to mention 50 abilities and a game who's gameplay mechanic is much more complex than other popular shooters today, yet designed to be picked up by new players, yet here you are still hung up on the "half assed" customization."

Don't forget that it was delayed twice for fixing up.

You enjoy the idea of someones life being ruined, and your signature is 'KILL'.
And you find Brinks customization to be lacking....

Whats wrong with you? :slap:

I might have to come in defense for the TC. Maybe he shouldn't be so drastic into questioning his pre-order, but he doesn't necessarily have a bad point. Watching some of the streams of people customizing their characters, it did seem slightly underwhelming. That is also only because customization was suppose to be a big aspect of the game the developers constantly talked about. You do get to change the colors for each which is still a cool feature. It isn't really a big complaint either, but I understand where he is coming from. It isn't a huge complaint, just something I have noticed as well. With how the developers talked about the amount of customization you could see why you would see our perspective. But I am still excited for the game and I do not regret my pre-order.

But here is a question: Is it possible you unlock more ways to customize your characters the higher ranks and levels you go? That might be a point missed within this whole discussion.

It's been confirmed that through playing the campaign and doing the challenges you will be able to unlock gear, weapons and weapons mods. So one can assume that what we see in the customization vid is early on in your character's developement.

Character customisation was a fairly large selling point for me, and I'm happy about what I've seen. It's more than 10 times better than most of the games I play (perhaps not Vegas 2) I think it's awesome. It's clearly never going to be as good as maths makes it out to be, but it would be stupid to think that there would actually be 100,000,000,000,000,000 drastically different characters. Stop whining, start bowing.

Again, as I stated before, it is all subjective. What is "underwhelming" to you may be "overwhelming" to others, or at least adequate. Saying it was supposed to be a "big aspect" also falls under this category.

I agree, the customization could have been more deep, but I think it's not that much of an issue. The team-based game mechanics and easy transitions from singleplayer and multiplayer are the major selling points, not the customization; SD didn't really talk all that much about customization.

wow i said no where that i did not enjoy the game u [censored] i am worried that the customization will be weak, which is a legit concern seeing as how it is a large part of the game. i hate u mindless fan-boys that defend a game with out having played it. i am still willing to play this game and see how it works out, so please DO NOT put words in my mouth or speak im my stead.
