Skooma/Moonsugar effects

Post » Thu Aug 19, 2010 1:53 am

I think adding good drug effects to Skyrim would totally improve immersion. Wouldn't it be awesome if there were crazy effects when you used moonsugar or skooma? Imagine having an animation for snorting moonsugar and then you're character gets faster :bolt: , colors get a little more vibrant :shocking: , and maybe sometimes your character even takes control of its self for a few seconds of impaired decision making...

Also there should be addiction effects like FO.

What do ya'll think?

I like the idea of it affecting the game slightly, love the idea of it becoming more vibrant etc - like over the top shivering isles to oblivion.

Moon sugar isn't cocain!
It's used in Skooma pipes and also made into Skooma.

Something like drugs with stimulant effects would be interesting - you get a positive boost for a while, but then crash and lose states for a certain period of time afterward. Addiction might be a bit too complex to implement though.

they had it in Fallout and in a mission for shivering isles so it wont be too hard for addiction

there definetely wont be a snorting action for moonsugar.. bethesda would be fined huge amounts and it would damage their company image.. its for similar reasons why they renamed all the drugs in the fallout series after austrailia had issues with it

How would it improve immersion? My character isn't high 24/7. There are more important elements of immersion.

It would be pretty cool if you went on some sort of acid trip. See things like a pink Argonian with a Khajiit head. :turned:

pink mammoths! .. i guess its as close to seeing pink elephants as you can get...
i must say that an acid trip while in the mountains will be alot of fun, as long as you save often

They only renamed "morphine" to "Med-X", all of the other fictional drugs had been in previous Fallout games.

On topic, I think it's time they implemented an addiction system for Skooma and Moon Sugar. It's never made sense that NPCs can get addicted to it, but not the player character. Maybe you could base the addiction chance off of Endurance (to combat the physical dependency) or Willpower (to combat the mental dependency)?

But I like using 6 bottles of Skooma without fear of addiction!

Staring at a stroboscope and flashing things is better...
