I have this bug in ED-E my Love quest. When Lorenzo speaks to me through ED-E, after the third phrase the game "locks" and I'm not able to move or do anything. I'm only able to look around but I can't talk to ED-E, I can't move or raise the pip boy.
Please help me, I already tried to load a previous game to check if another trigger might work, but the game locks anyway.
What if I send ED-E to Lucky38 or to Primm? I would like to go on with the game even without ED-E (this would be the second 70 hrs game I lose...).

Anybody?

I had this problem too with this quest but managed to complete it. It locked up for me when I downloaded the computer file in that shed, and secondly with michael angelo. The first time I just had him stay outside the shed when I downloaded the file and lost the opportunity to kick in the ede dialog.

Then, when I met with angelo I believe I had him wait outside initially for the first dialog run, then repeated it with him present later. I was surprised it didn't crash. Once I got him past that initial log, the remaining ede quest didn't present any issues (i.e. talking to the other folks to kick in the remainder of the log).

im having the same problem as well, its pretty nasty ive exhasted all my minigun ammo knocking out ede and am in the bunker with laranzo and am trying to do what this says but its not working for me its gonna svck if I have to start the gameover because of this :flamethrower:

Yeah, the Wiki isn't exactly in the plainest English, but I can confirm that the fix does indeed work.

Had the same problem as everyone else here in that the game would just freeze on the third ED-E dialogue.

In simple terms, what you need to try and do is arrange it so you are standing next to Senior Knight Lorenzo while he is asleep. Then just as ED-E is about to enter his dialogue, wake up Lorenzo. While he is in the process of getting out of bed and standing up, ED-E will do his third dialogue thingy, then afterwards rather than simply freezing, Lorenzo will now talk to you instead.

It all sounds simple (hopefully), but the real trick is in the timing. Make sure you save loads. Took me quite a while to setup as ED-E would keep catching me up and the game would then freeze.

It helps, thanks. Unfortunately I think that's too late... I fired ED-E and now he's waiting in the Lucky 38, and it's likely that as soon as I re hire him, the third dialogue will start. I'll try to do what you suggest, but I don't think I'll have enough time to reach Hidden Valley and Knight Lorenzo.
