Poisoned Team

When a team member gets poisoned, there is no -obvious- way to cure them. In the team member dialog options, you can only ask them to use a stimpack. All you can do is sit and watch them slowly die, and then reload (hard core).

This is an obvious defect, what's up guys?

I've never played in hardcoe mode, but it occurs to me that when I get poisoned and I have no antivenom then I just have to take three or four stimpacks as my health drops. After a while the effects of the poison wear off. Perhaps you can tell your team mate to take a stimpack periodically for a minute or two.

I suspect that isn't the correct solution, but it might work.

Thanks, Trippitaka. When I ask one of my guys to take a stimpack, and they are poisoned (seems at a high level), their health goes substantially down into the negative. For example, say their health is at 120, after they take one stimpack their health will be at -141 or something. They immediately die after I leave the dialog.

Thanks for the advice, though, I've even hoped that if they carried around anitvenom, they would try to use it automatically. No such luck. It seems to me some previous Fallout wouldn't allow your people to get poisoned, this sounds like a right option - heck, I'd prefer they hack the game so -I- get the poison flag in stead of a comrade.

It seems there's a big gulf between hardcoe mode and ordinary. I don't want things to be as difficult as they are in hardcoe mode, but I think it's kinda wrong that my companions should be just immortal.

Poison is kinda stupid anyway. If I'm all decked out in my power armour I can fend off 20 tooled up Legionaries, hardly taking any damage, but 3 or 4 Cazadors can almost get the better of me.

You're supposed to be able to use a stimpack on them and it will cure them of the poison, just like it cures their crippling. It always used to work for me like that anyway...at least until...

....there's a bug with poison currently. Might've been around a bit before the latest patch, but since the patch it's now "dominant" and a lot of people have it. What it does is, when you apply a stimpack to a companion, all the remaining hit points that could have been lost via the poison duration is triggered and applied before the stimpack healing effect ... thus your companion takes tons of damage and/or dies instantly. If you're lucky & they have enough health, they may survive but then it also may take a few more stimpacks before they stabilize (their health goes up & down weirdly as you use stims). On non-HC mode this isn't too big of a deal, but on HC it makes companions pretty risky to use against some creatures.

Also, poison may not wear off for a much longer duration than it should, or not at all for some people. Dismissing companion & then rehiring them at their home location seems to sometimes 'reset' the companion and takes it off.

I noticed that too, the "stimpack equals immediate death" after a companion is poisoned. Now i have to baby my companion whenever i see Cazaodors, i'm like "right you wait here, wouldn't want you to get a boo boo"
