Bethesda Advertisemant

In my Daggerfall box, there was this old advertisemant for their games. I didn't remember that Daggerfall was eighty dollars. I should have gotten the figurine.

I was wondering where Andel Crodo got his line, "Bad dog. Release that source code!" :>

Heh, yea I have that ad in my box.

I wonder if that hint book is different from the Chronicles or Prima's guide. Would be interesting to see.

Ahh, more glorious 90s paraphernalia! It's always interesting to see how Bethesda's advertising has changed over time, not to mention how the amount of goodies has dwindled since then. I always thought that the Daggerfall shirt was only given out to people who bought the "special" preorder bundle version of Daggerfall. Never knew about the silly dog pins either. Thanks for sharing the scans!

What I want to see is what this figurine looked like.

ReaverEsn managed to dig out some photographs of the Lysandus figurine - they can be found http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1108217-daggerfall-limited-edition/page__view__findpost__p__16364501.

If you take a nicely sized picture of a map of Tamriel to cafepress, you're good to go.

I like that there's a phone number for a hint line. That's cool, back when the internet was small.

Oh god, i totally forgot it cost 80 bucks.

but thats in the us - i'm in brazil, so i dont remeber how much my bro and i paid for daggerfall, but i could hardly believe when i saw the Daggerfall box on our table (and Arena was the game that i loved playing most in my life). I remember the planning of character development, which race to pick, bonuses and weaknesses, which skills would be first-tier, second tier, etc... all the preparations...

now, we're talking 1996 i guess... i installed it and ran for less than 20 minutes before the whole thing crashed. then another 5 minutes - crash again, and so on.

I was spitting fire, swore never to buy / play bethesda games again. now we can download it for free along with a huge patch, etc...

never gave it a second shot, maybe will do that?

I can't imagine I'm the only one who remembers Bad Dog, but does anyone here remember his other catch phrase? I think it was "put down that gun" but the only old Bethesda games I have are fantasy titles.

Google searches have done nothing I'm afraid.

I didn't see another phrase on there, maybe it was on something else.

Odd I thought I searched this forum for "bad dog," I must have used the wrong window and searched somewhere else.

That's definitely him, on the back of my Daggerfall box he shows up with the "bad dog" line and I believe I saw him on something else in there. I guess there must have been at least four Bad Dogs, I was only ever aware of the sci-fi one, huh.

I wonder what all of their quotes were :)

Mr. Donner, for shame! Not remembering Bad Dog as well as an old hand like you should...

Of course, something something people in glass houses, et cetera. I don't really remember all of them, either. But he was pretty common back in the day. I'm pretty sure I remember a Bad Dog Terminator, and possibly something related to the X-Car game, as well. I'll have to look for my old boxes.

Wow $80. And I thought games now were expensive. I'm glad they're now free though.
