Do you have a PS3? If so, is that the email linked to your PSN account?

I just spent 15 minutes sending multiple emails and signed off just a few seconds ago. It's definitely not down or broken.

tie google voice to your land line and you should be able to use your google voice number to recieve texts.

Google voice is free until at least the end of the year

That said, I don't think this'll work. You shouldn't be able to send an activation code to a mobile number UNLESS that mobile number was pre-registered with your account, otherwise anyone could just put in their own number and steal your account.

Sounds to me like your account got hacked and someone changed your password

I'd go https://account.live.com/password/reset

Have you tried a different browser? I had a weird issue once where I was getting an error message and it worked with firefox instead of internet explorer. The cause of the problem was my anti-virus software was blocking something on internet explorer...

I've never heard of having to have an activation code sent to your mobile phone with hotmail...

Usually if you type your password wrong too many times or something along those lines you have do one of those picture things and type in the letters you see in the picture... what the hell are those things called...

Try hotmail on another browser anyways. It sounds like you need to scan for spyware malware and viruses... May I suggested advanced system care this program well fix a lot problems and it also scans for spyware and viruses.

Seeing it's working, there's no need to keep this open.
