I've played for about forty hours now and I'm about to do some main quests. Over the course of my game so far I've sided with ncr and are now villified by the legion. I've seen numerous posts lately of people having major issues getting to the fort and freeing benny. Before I dive into this have I been glitched out of the main quest because of how I've handled m playthrough? Any tips/suggestions before I move forward with the main quest? I've only had raul as a companion and now I have boone and I am level 23 playing on the ps3. Any feedback would me much appreciated thanks!

Set the game to "Very Easy" and level the fort. Even then it's going to be a rough fight from all the numbers and you still might die once you make it into Caesar's tent.

So I'm not bugged out of the main quest then?

It might be bugged. If CL hates you the "Mark of Caesar" will have exactly no effect. Maybe it's there to allow entrance into Caesar's tent and that's it.

Anyway, you can keep going on the MQ. It's just going to be alot harder at this point.

I am in a similar situation. I am wearing the legion armor. I can make it all the way to the front of caesar's tent before the dog sicks me. I cant fake out the dog. I really want to do the caeser quests. Am i really screwed out of the main story bc of this? I dont really want to have to blast my way through.

I'm in the same boat.

I have the Ceasars Mark, according to my pipboy I have no rep either good or bad with the Legion yet still when I get to that dog I get made and attacked.
This is bloody stupid. What am I missing???

Are you bugged out of the main quest?

Don't bring boone with you the first time. The only way to the fort is by the boat, and if you have Boone with you either he will kill the boat guy or, at the very least, make him hostile so he won't talk to you, locking you out from getting to Fortification Hill. Kinda stupid design, if you ask me. You should just be able to swim there.

I think, not 100% sure, but I think that the legion is pretty much always hostile to you, except after you have the mark (assuming you don't lose any rep with them afterwards to piss 'em off again). Everyone I encounter up to getting the mark is hostile, regardless of previous encounters. If after getting the mark, I attack any legionary anywhere, they ALL become hostile again.

this is really stupid though. I have the mark...I have everything. I even stashed my companion in a locker (complete with wedgie) at the brotherhood of steel safehouse. But the damned dogs. I even tried to stealth boy it and nothing.

I'm pretty sure I screwed myself out of the CL quest line. I went there during For the Republic Part II to find evidence for the Great Khans that they'd be betrayed (I've been vilified by CL for most of the game) I snuck all the way up to the tent, before the dog could make me I snuck in. Well There is a guard right on the inside of the door. I pickpocketed him before he could make me, planted a plasma grenade, blew him up, killed Caesar, stole the slave log, killed Benny, Took the Platinum chip from Caesar's corpse and Ran. As soon as I got out of his tent (with about 5 Praetorian guards wanting to kill me) Hard to avoid them inside but possible. Use Turbo. Then Once outside Run Like Hell. Use Super Stimpacks and Med-X as you run. Head straight for the entrance of the Fort and they won't follow you outside of it.

Decimating Caeser's Legion won't lock you out of the Main storyline, it'll just change the direction it takes.
