It has been stated that his intentions are unknown, but what do you think they are?

Unknown. He's the personification of madness.

Cue mind[censored].

Well, we can easily infer that he gnaws at the stability of Nirn directly, rather than actually facilitating change upon it. Specifically, he gnaws at its residents.

Not all Daedra have "master plans", Mehrunes Dagon's actions in TESIV were an abberation, and Azura's scheming in TESIII was mainly defensive since Dagoth Ur was getting out of control.

Dagon's actions in TESIV have technically been going on for many centuries, and other aspects of the overall plan were taking place in Arena and Battlespire. Most of the other Princes don't dream of starting a new Empire on Tamriel the way Dagon does, but I'm sure they all have their own master plans of varying stripes.

To add, not all daedra necessarily would even want to care about TES, for all we know there could have been a war between the daedric planes while the oblivion crisis was going on, we don't know that much about the daedra, i'm guessing that's intentional.

I'm pretty sure the Daedric princes all 'care' about Nirn (asside from in mods and fanfiction).

They care in a sense that they don't want their biggest source of entertainment and meaning removed, except Dagon who really does want it completely gone.

If the mortal realm was completely obliterated, what would Mehrunes Dagon do with all his spare time?

According to that link, that's exactly what he wants to do: return to his state of freedom.

But doesn't Dagon get a kick outta watching mortals interact like little ants? Surely he must find us entertaining in some sense or another. I think he'd miss Nirn if it were gone. I guess he could always go harrass the other daedra for kicks.

In the context of that text that was linked, Dagon was a Leaper King in cahoots with Lorkhan (called the Greedy Man in the text) to stop Alduin (right?) from destroying the current incarnation of existence.

Their trick failed and Alduin threw Red Mountain on top of Lorkhan. If you combine info from Mankar's school of thought, Dagon and Lorkhan are friends and Dagon wants to free him and return himself to his Leaper state.

Yup, but I guess we should be careful with the fact that we come to that conclusion, like 946K said, in the context of that text.

It gives another dimension to Dagon, one which was never introduced before. Some people could choose to disregard it, though.

Dagon did sell out though, in an attempt for Alduin to not hate him.
