Potion Drinking

I'm not sure whether this would be a feature but I think something should be done to prevent potion spamming. I know there is the argument that you limit yourself etc but I just want something like an animation to drink a potion (they already have animations for drinking). That way it is something you have to do before a fight or a task in which you need the desired affect. Nothing long, 1 second would do, or alternatively instead of the message 'you cannot drink anymore potions right now' (I'm playing Oblivion atm and this is the message) you could vomit losing some fatigue.

Something like that would be a nice touch but I would just prefer a drinking animation, spell casting takes time and leaves you open for attack so why not potion drinking. It would also mean that the restoration skill may be a better alternative, restorative spells could take a lot of magika though. Of course this is another idea to add to a list of ideas that won't be implemented if they haven't already. It just makes a nice discussion piece.

Perhaps making potions more scarce would increase the relevance of alchemy also. If they are scarce then they would be expensive meaning it encourages the player to hunt/explore or carry out sidequests in order to prepare for more challenging quests or areas.

Yes, it sounds nice. I agree.

Would like an animation for both potions and poisons. They could make it that when you have drank or are under the effects of a potion, other potions effects will be severely reduced.

Something definitely needs to be done about potion spamming. Best solution is an animation. Better yet, let it be interruptable by a melee attack.

Sorry :blush2: Perhaps discuss the latter half of my original post. I just thought about it as I'm currently playing Oblivion and realised I was overencumbered by potions so spam drank them.

If potions were scarce it would give more incentive to take more time with the game. It would mean that the first settlement you meet would act as a kind of base you work outwardly from the stronger you get. Sorry to convolute the boards.
