Will the PS3 suffer a delay on DLC releases like it did with

Post » Thu Aug 19, 2010 12:15 am

I havent heard anyhting about it and I was hoping someone "in the know" could give me some info on this.

I'll be buying the game regardless, but I'd like to know now, if the information is avaliable for distribution, what the DLC status will be for us PS3 owners.

Thanks in advance guys.

Dont think they will. The reason that happened before is cause bethseda has never really been good with sony technology. But hopefuly with the combined effort of obsedian and bethseda they fixed that, and the bugs that came with it.

Nobody "in the know" will give you that answer, even if they weren't bound to an NDA. Would anyone "in the know" really want to say "Yes we will be neglecting the PS3 again, muhahahaha!"? I don't think so.

We will only know for sure once the first DLC is announced and we see whether or not they say "For PC and Xbox 360" or "For PC, PS3 and Xbox 360."

I think it depends on how many people bought Dlc on the ps3, its a motivational thing you see. if dlc was mostly bought for ps3 then they would be making the most effort with those versions. its likely though that theyve had time make sure every things in sync, but its far from the top priority. their still preparing to ship the game out, much less having to make the dlc.

This is not entirly true... i read in a interview somewhere that they were working on dlc already but it wouldnt come out for awhile (Meaning they will be good). I belive this because if you think about it dlc that is made in only a few days will not be good, i actually think obsedian wants to make all there DLC like a brand new game (Small one of course but inticipated like a new game would be and made as good as one should be).

As much as I hate to agree, I do. Unfortunately I waited a while to buy BECAUSE of this (and when I did buy, I only got point lookout and broken steel) , it really angered me and made me feel like my money wasn't appreciated. If they wait again, I will probably choose the same tactic, although they will most likely not care to notice. It was and is a really bad idea to try to make PS3 owners feel like they do not matter as much as the "other" players (and give us a flawed product in the end [ie- freezing and bugs]), and I'm sure most other PS3 owners will agree. Hopefully they will see the flaw in the tactic of making "us" wait waaaayyy later to get what everyone else had at the same time.
EDIT: it made me sad face, too :(

This is a little bit like asking, will Fallout 4 run on Windows 8? Nobody knows, because we arent there yet. I'm sure they will release info on some DLC in like 6 months and then we can stipulate as to whether or not they will. I'm guessing since its a different company making most of the game, they would not run into the same issues that caused it with Fo3, but nobody can tell yet.

I kinda thought that a lack of information would be the case this early. I was just wondering, because shortly before FO3's release Pete Hines stated in an interview that the DLC would be 360/PC exclusive(though as we all know now that wasnt the case) and didn't know if such information was avaliable yet.

Personally, I agree with geezer's comments aobut feeling that my hard earned dollars were "unappreicated" and that I wasn't as important as "the other players".

Well, I'll keep my eyes peeled for the DLC info in the future. Thanks for the quick response guys.

Well, nobody can say how the ball will roll and I have no crystal ball. But I believe the problems from last time will have been worked through and issues resolved and things put in place for better smoother PS3 releases this time around. But one never knows when several companies must work together to make stuff like this happen. And we never know which side the problems existed on and what sort of contractual agreements have to be made and so much more.

But here's hoping.

I would imagine that there may be a delay but only a very slight delay. It wont be anything major like months. After all Microsoft is a bit bigger than Sony and Microsoft owns the licence to Windows Live as well. Thats why the PC and 360 get DLC the same time and Sony doesnt.
