[REQ] A Journal Mod

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 4:12 pm

I remember seeing a journal mod for oblivion. is it possible to use one in NV? thing is, I often run into skill checks. my skills are not good enough to pass them, so I decide to come back later. until then I might forget about it or I remember that there is something I wanted to do, but can't find the place anymore. remember this domesticated mole rat with a broken leg? can't fix it right now but since no quest is added to my pipboy I'll probably forget about it anyway. this is where I'd really like to make some notes. what do you think?

The journal mod in Oblivion depends on some functionality in OBSE that isn't yet available for NVSE, and which won't be available in the first version. However, I hope that by the second version we can have what is needed for someone to create a journal mod for New Vegas.

Untill then the only alternative is making new notes in the GECK, then adding them in a convenient location, just pick them up and they end up in your pipboy...

An oldish thread to be sure, but I'm curious if this state of affairs has changed at all, regarding NVSE.

I suggest a notepad and a pen / pencil, until NVSE catches up to this technology.

Well, it's possible in Oblivion with Kyoma's Journal mod. That makes use of Pluggy, however, for OBSE. I'm curious if there's a way to rig it for New Vegas, along with rejiggering the mod for use in a Pip-Boy.

it would be great if you could leave little markers on your map where you could write a short blurb..

also alot of times i forget why I'm on certain quests and the one-line objectives in the pip-boy provides no backstory, it would be real awesome to have the journal save all dialogue the player has experienced like the quest journal in Morrowind..
