Player-Owned Houses.

A few years back I decided to log in on runescape, not having been on for forever. Got a month of members. Quit after it was over.
But one thing that really struck me and that used a lot of time was House construction. You could create rooms, and using skills, build your own custom furniture, and make a truly amazing place for your friends to visit. I really enjoyed this feature, and the concept of it all seems to work very well with the sandox nature of a hardcoe RPG like elder scrolls. Homes previously did not feel like homes. Now, it'll be an excellent break from adventuring to go spend your gold on buying a lot in your favorite city.

With the addition of things like mining, chopping wood, and improved hunting, we are going to be getting a lot more raw materials, I think we should be able to construct, even if with very simple tools or harsh restrictions, a nice house.

Fill it with display cases!
Use your intelligence to build alchemical workbenches, bookshelves.
Use strength to build furniture with raw materials.
Or buy them. Construct chests maybe.

Maybe the game could do a check of the PC, and put it into stone so you can put a 50 foot statue of yourself in the lot. Or some busts in the halls.

Another suggestion I would like to make is custom dungeons. While making no sense whatsoever in logic or lore, I think the ability to rearrange premade segments (Hallway, underground river segment) would be great. Oblivion dungeons all seemed to be made of premade segments, and while Skyrim shouldn't have dungeons like that normally, just 1 would be fine if YOU made it. Also should buy randomized chests (Massive gold cost even for a low-level chest) and place enemy creature spawns (do not drop loot, but if you never see more than a single rat or whatever, why not fight in one giant arena filled with nothing but weak monsters that you can crush hordes of?)

While I do not in any way want any kind of multiplayer features in Skyrim, sending a custom house or dungeon to a friend via respective networks would be amazing.

I agree that it would be awesome, however I believe that Bethesda is still using their current system of having the interiors of buildings be separate "cells" of the world requiring a load to enter. I think therefore that this would be very difficult to implement using their current system.

Not really related, but since we're on the subject of houses, I want to be able to choose houses in certain cities, not to have 1 choice

Then the game doesn't generate a cell if you haven't built any rooms. The rooms you build have full walls and doors at specific locations, the houses are completely disconnected just as any other normal building.

I dont think it should be like runescapes I dont want to build it from scratch, and it would be too much trouble, I would like the fact that you could customize it
but I dont have to worry at all I will get it for PC :celebration:

I like the idea of creating your own house and stuff but I think it would be too difficuilt to put into the game... as far as furniture goes you should defonatly have the decision to decide what type of look you want. Weather its shape, size, couler or what materials its made out of, you should defonatly have more options when upgrading your house and buying furniture for it!

While In my opinion whole "custom furniture crafting" doubley-doo seems somewhat redundant both for the Bethesda to implement (with a jewel like Skyrim to polish their schedules are packed to the brim I imagine-That's what we love them for ^_^ ) and for us players to mess around with, I do agree with the raw idea of having slightly more touch added to your household/mansion/castle/hideout/base/crib/crypt/dwelling. I wouldn't mind to see for example a bigger variety of furniture and interior decoration sets that we would be able to purchase. Sort of 'for each their own' deal. Also on the same note, it would be great if there was more then just one parcel to buy per city. Two or three different options differing in price and locations. One of my biggest letdowns experienced in the Imperial City was inability to purchase a luxury apartment in the middle of the town and lead the high life of retired adventurer, in the heart of the known world, instead of which you could only buy a shack in the poor neighborhood.

I'm not a fan of the minecraft style, "Get resources and plonk house where ever you wish", but am a fan of customising your own house (for sale in and OUT of cities) and building a small town/village (raven rock style - but not governing it). If it is like this I will be 100% satisfied.

For those who don't want to have to muck around moving beds and tables and chairs in their homes, they can just have it in the default setting, but for those that do it would be great. I know there are people who want to build and manage their own towns, but that would be getting too much like an RTS. I guarantee, everyone who played the raven rock quest loved it. If they do that more or less the same, its a nice compromise.

yea, better still, we should be able to alter anything in the game, and upload them to sites and let other people download them.

wait...we've been able to do this for awhile now...construction set ftw.

if you want to be able to to craft furniture, get some people together and make a mod for it.

gamesas isn't microsoft.

i looked for less than 5 mins and found this mod, supposedly you can construct furniture in this one.

This actually makes it easier, takes yurt out of saddlebag, put it up and walk inside.

The outside just need to be a house model, the inside can be decorated at will.
An expansion of the house will change external model and remove a wall who cover a doorway in the internal model.

So yes you could actually build a house anywhere, much the same as all the portable tents in Oblivion. However I think it's better left for mods, paying someone to build a house for you at one of multiple locations would be far easier.

Oblivion has had buyable deployable furniture since shortly after release, in craftybits you can craft furniture like beds and containers. Fittingly they look lower class as they are self made and will fit at a camp site. If you want upper class you buy it here
