Religion and Politics
Topics or posts that deal with religious or political matters, beliefs, people, or events are not allowed on the forums.

Does this just mean no discussion of real world religions and politics. Which is fine.

Or does it mean no discussion of anything some real world religion (or political party/pressure group) has an opinion on or regards as 'controversial'?

If something is not inherently political/religious, but is politically/religiously volatile, then chances are it isn't allow. Global warming (for politics) and biological evolution (for religion) are good examples of this. Allowing a discussion of biological evolution isn't really fair when alternative religious theories aren't allowed, and threads on global warming would invariably drag in political topics and then need to be locked.

As a good rule of thumb if you think something may be politically or religiously sensitive you should PM a moderator before starting a discussion on it.

If you have questions about the rules its really best to PM us as well. At the very least this topic belongs in Community Discussion and a PM asking for clarification would have been better still.
