Xbox 360 Slim

The manual says it is okay to set up the Xbox vertically or horizontally, but just to be careful not to block any of the vents. If I set it up vertically, it blocks one of the vents. Is that okay?

Lol you kinda answered your own question there. Its recommend that you dont as 360s are known to have a high failure rate.

I would assume so since it's designed to stand that way. Just make sure the rest of the vents are not blocked in any way and you're fine.

If one of the vents is pointing upward and seems to have decent air flow, and provided you aren't playing from a sauna, I don't see much of a problem.

Hey, you ended up getting it I see. I also got your friend request on PSN. I wouldn't set it vertically. It's pretty much an unwritten rule for consoles. You run a higher risk of scratching your discs among other things.

I ruined my halo reach disk the day after I got it because of having it stand vertically :banghead:
So yeah I wouldn't recommend it either.

I honestly wouldn't do it for either console. Too risky to me. When you use the PS3 just put the 360 vertical and when you're using the 360 put the PS3 vertical.

I've kept my Xbox's vertical since the original 360. Slim should handle it with no problems.

It should be fine as log as you don't bump it, and there aren't a lot of vibrations in the room (Vacuum, nearby standing fan, etc. ). I've only scratched one disk and it was from a friend accidentally picking the xbox up while it was playing.
