fcom... past/present/future?

I always had no problem with fcom as I followed the instructions here : http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/fcominstall.html ...these are now outdated, I think. There is newer versions of MMM for instance including a .bsa and that changes the relevance of the instructions for fcom. Also, I have GOTY and I'm not sure if that changes anything about the already convoluted procedure. I had gotten it to work before... same computer, same GOTY ...but the versions of some of the mods are different now. It's all I can figure that is wrong with what is happening to me now. I have missing meshes... right from the beginning in the tutorial cave, that first skeleton on the left when your alone for the first time. He got 2 missing meshes yellow WTF star things.

I'm just saying, I never had this problem before. I almost wish someone would put everything into one big all inclusive fcom package (fcom bomb) that you could just unrar and install and maybe add updates afterward when they happen. But seriously this whole big procedure is driving me nuts... especially when you get it all done after tearing your hair out trying to follow outdated instructions and trying to sort out dozens of versions for overhauls that are so many they look like the dewey decimal system at some public library. The whole thing is just sickening me and probly giving me an ulcer...

Is there some fcom overhaul somewhere that is more user friendly... is there an easier way? If not then I can totally see me just chucking my GOTY out or something, I can't play it without fcom anymore.

Recommended install order:

Note: It's very much recommended to start from a clean install of the game before installing FCOM. Oblivion must be patched to 1.2.0416.

Unofficial Oblivion Patch
Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch (if applicable)
DLC's + Patches (if applicable)
Francesco's Creatures-Items 4.5 (optional)
OOO version 1.33 full patched to OOO 1.34 beta5 (required)
Oblivion WarCry patched to 1.085b, patched to OblivionWarCry 1.09 (optional)
Bob's Armory 1.1 (optional)
Armamentarium and Armamentarium Artifacts (optional)
Mart's Monster Mod 3.7b3 (required)
Cobl (optional)
MMM 3.7b3 Cobl Update (optional, if applicable)
Cobl Races (optional)
FCOM 9.9 + supported add-ons (add-ons optional)
Body Replacement mods (Roberts, Exnem. EVE etc) (optional)
Texture replacers (optional)

To complete FCOM, install the UFCOM files, overwriting where prompted. Also, get the FCOM_WarCry 1.09 update.

That's probably the easiest Guide I've seen, giving you the order in which to install-- hopefully it will help.

sounds like you didn't rename your MMM.bsa to FCOM_Convergence_MMM.bsa

GOTY is not a problem. You can either install both discs for SI, KotN and the 1.2.416 update OR you can install only disc 1 and then download the 1.2.416 update (if you for some reason don't want SI and KotN installed). Both methods will work

The http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1113274-relz-fcom-convergence-and-ufcom-65/ has up to date info on versions, download links, bash check guide etc. It's also the place to post FCOM questions in.
