Gamer Bethesda-Love

I'm inclined to think it's typical short sighted capitalism, and unfortunately for Bethesda they've made less money from one customer. I bet they'll be making much, much less from many others.

Unless, of course, it's all a simple mistake...

Bah this is pure speculation on your part, and frankly I don't think your correct at all here. The game may cost a few more dollars than we expected, but for the Vast majority of games; once we want a game bad enough, chances are we're going to buy it. I know of very few gamers who turn away from titles over a few bucks, but if your one of them, then I feel sorry for ya - your missing out on a great experience.

And frankly these games are all Under-priced for the amount of value we get out of them anyway, hundreds of hours of entertainment for less than $100? Pretty damn good value IMHO.

Until or unless Bethesda (or someone actually in the know) responds to this with concrete information, everything else is just speculation.

You guys had it a lot worse a few years ago. Your games are sorta coming down in price but i remember back in like 2008 you were paying 100-110 AUD for console games. Up here in Canada we also gotta pay an additional 10 dollars more per game compared to Americans, and our dollar is even closer to the American dollar then Australia. I think the Canadian dollar is worth about $0.99 American.

You should have bought it earlier! That's so unlucky though, i'd buy from the UK and ship it over if i were you.

I seem to remeber an article in Gameinformer stating that the lawmakers in Australia had passed a bill banning M rated games in the country (I don't have this article in front of me but I believe it was from the August or september issue). This may be restricted to retail but may be affecting the cost of direct downloads as well, which is why you have this sudden increase in price. Just an idea

This is a problem affecting a lot of games being sold in Australia over Steam, not just Fallout: New Vegas. I've heard of this happened numerous times before, involving various games. It isn't Bethesda doing this, it seems to be a problem with Steam.

We have an open topic for this discussion in CD:

Doesn't seem to be just a Bethesda thing. :)

Feel free to join in that discussion.
