I'm hoping the amazing community here can help me out once again. I'm considering writing a story about a group of smugglers who are bringing in Moonsugar (or possibly Skooma), so I'd like to get a bit more information on the substances. I'll list what I already know/think I know, and if you kind people can correct me or add to my list, I'd be most greatful.

• They are both highly addictive
  
• Skooma is a refined version of Moonsugar (what does this do? i.e. make it more potent)
  
• Moonsugar is native to Telmar (sp?) forest/jungle in Elsweyr
  
• Has a deep religious meaning for a lot of Khajiit
  
• Banned due to the fact it's so addictive in parts of the Empire
  
• Moonsugar can be ingested orally while Skooma can be smoked (what forms of Skooma are there? I know of liquid, but I assume you don't smoke liquid?) or drunk

The main things I need to know are the effects it has on the body. Like, for example, the sort of feeling someone who has taken Skooma/Moonsugar would feel? And then the long-term side effects? Thanks.

In Greg Keyes' novel it's suggested that Khajiit don't get high from Moon Sugar, only from Skooma. All other races get high from both, though. Khajiit are said to eat moon sugar with almost every meal, and it holds a lot of significance in their rituals.

Rather than open a new thread, I'm wondering if moon sugar is actually illegal for Khajits in the empire. In real life, certain religious groups are allowed to use otherwise illicit drugs.

If the Empire allowed khajiits to use moonsugar then it would be incredibaly easy to smuggle and distribute. I dont think the emperor's that daft

I guess all the khajit just ignore the law. Because seriously, in Morrowind every khajit merchant would buy moon sugar, even if they weren't related to the thieves guild.
