Steam servers connected to all PC servers?

If i buy Brink on steam, are the servers connected to all the servers outside of steam?


Also, If I bought Brink at wal-mart, a copy of it, will i have to activate it on steam?

I don't understand your first question? Steam just connects you to dedicated severs, so yes you will be able to play with everyone who has a PC copy.
And yes, you do have to activate Brink via Steam

Okay thank you. Might as well pre-order a copy at Wal-mart to get a box for it than pre-ordering it on steam right now.
