I think it's starting to looka little like..

Cyrodiil was also originally a jungle populated by were-lions among other things, we all know how that turned out.

I was disappointed that Cryodiil wasn't more like the early descriptions

I got a very strong Morrowind vibe yes, but that was because of the music. Skyrim looks far better than Morrowind in every way.

This.

I think the land just looks more intriguing, much like Morrowind's did. Cyrodil's was too normal-ish.

Take it as a good thing.
At least it doesnt look like Arena, right?
I think it is a good thing that they learned a lot from both
Oblivion and Morrowind, and came out with a better game.

well they havent exactly come out with it yet, nor have any of us played it so we dont know the quality.
but at least for this game series i think its safe to assume it will be good without making an [censored] of yourself

Interesting points about the lore aspect - but yes, I love how it's more craggy and forbidding-looking - but still looks a lot of fun to explore.

The last time Bethesda reminded me strongly of Morrowind was the Point Lookout expansion for Fallout 3 - all those swamps!

I definitely think, from the trailer, that Skyrim strikes exactly the right balance of inviting and gritty.

I think its more to do with the fact that the Skyrim Theme song has elements borrowed from the Morrowind Theme. and tats clouded your judgment a bit.

In a good way
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe both the Oblivion and Morrowind themes are really just different renditions of the Elder Scrolls theme. Skyrim is more similar to the Morrowind version though.

So, after watching the trailer for the millionth time, I've noticed to realize how close to Morrowind this game looks.

Watch it your self again or comment on here to tell what you saw.

Also, is this a bad thing or a good thing?

Morrowind: Untamed, rugged and harsh; just like the Dunmer that inhabit it.

Skyrim: Untamed, rugged and harsh; just like the Nords that inhabit it.

I like what I see :)

In terms of setting and environment, I think it looks more like MW than OB. Namely than town around 1:22.

It will be interesting to hear the talk of the oblivion crissis, and has the date been confirmed as in how many years after oblivion this is taking place?
Also it will be interesting to see yet more remnents of the dwemer, hoping for some armor/weaponry.

Skyrim will take place around 200 years after Oblivion.

Other than the music reminding me of Elder Scrolls past, it seemed like a new game to me.

Nothing in the video specifically reminded me of Morrowind.

Then again, I haven't seen the trailer a million times.

Besides the (supposed) dwemer ruins, I don't see much else. And I play Morrowind on a consistent basis.
