I'm sure he was just talking about temperament.

Necromancy should always be conducted late at night, or didn't you know?

I happen to be very civilized and agreeable. I make such stimulating conversation on these boards, don't I? Relatedly, I've been pondering that aphorism a lot lately and have wondered if someone virtuous enough could indeed wield enormous amounts of power without turning evil.

I mean, while this is a bit of a bad example but, Vivec and Ol' Tiber CHIMed and they didn't go on a murderous rampage killing lots of people. But then again, they had the power to do it and then make us forget about it totally... hmmm.

'Twas certainly not I that brought this thread back, though I would hardly count any of it as necromancy.

EDIT: Ah, now I see what you meant  Silly me.

Indeed, but I would think that the thing with CHIM was that you could do that, but you really didn't need to. The only reason Tiber used his powers to conquer and turn Cyrodiil into a forest was that he wanted to create a good place for his people. He didn't gain anything by it, because with CHIM he was already everything (and thus had nothing he needed to gain or wanted, for everything was him), but he did it for the good of those less fortunate, that still live outside the Tower. Vivec was much the same way, albeit he was slightly eccentric with his powers, much of everything he did in one way or another helped his people. Though his motivation is and most likely forever shall remain a mystery, especially his hand in Landfall.

CHIMmies don't go crazy with power, they just get a little... weird. They can see the future, right? Or is that outside of CHIM's power?

I imagine if you did it out of Love, then you probably could. Note that this is speculation.

Gah, Love still escapes my understanding. Along with it, the real importance of the Towers, and just about everything Vivec says lore is starting to get more and more confusing.

By God, the boy's a genius.

A little overfond of the phrase, are we?

Tiber Septim removed the jungle because he loved his troops. Indeed, http://www.imperial-library.info/obscure_text/many-headed_talos.shtml himself:

"'You have suffered for me to win this throne, and I see how you hate jungle. Let me show you the power of Talos Stormcrown, born of the North, where my breath is long winter. I breathe now, in royalty, and reshape this land which is mine. I do this for you, Red Legions, for I love you.'"

CHIM is a power fueled by love. You can do ANYTHING as long as it's out of love.

The Power of Love, is a curious thing. Makes one man weep, makes another sing. Change a hawk to a little white dove. More than a feeling, that's the Power of Love.
