Bashed patch is causing a problem.

alright, after this much time i am saying that the Bashed patch is designed to make the game crash on load, as NEVER in more than a month of attempts caused anything more than the game crashing mid load. NOTHING in Wyre Bash is showing me a problem, and i have decided that I'll post the LO with the bashed patch here for you people to tell me what the hell is wrong. all I need this time is for you to tell me why it is that it won't load with the bashed patch on. when I turn it off, it works fine.

I'm not sure I totally understand where you're coming from. What kind of crash are you having, is it instant (CTD before the Bethesda Bink can even play), or does the crash occur during the pre-load?

no. the bash patch crashes the game before i even get to create a character.

After updating to version 287 I'm having the same problem. WB crashes both when starting a new game and when loading old saves.
I suggest reverting to 284 for the time being.

It should be the ini unless you are sure that the bashed patch is causing the problem ( I'm assuming you deactivated it before starting the game? )
If that is the case then reinstall Wrye and when you bash it bash it carefully also I like the fact that you are only using MMM it's a wise choice not to use too many mods
If you have a problem using the Bash feature maybe I could help you out via PM?
Also I think you shouldn't use All Natural - Real Lights.esp . That esp is supposed to be used for All Natural Real Lights only!
Also I recommend that you don't use City Defenses, I think that you are missing slof's horses?
Extra Wounding and Durability and Damage might make your game too easy
Your load order might be bad

I'm using 287 and I don't have those problems...

No, that is incorrect. All Natural - Real Lights.esp is fine as a part of the full mod (you would have to rename the BSA if using just the real lights component - not the case here though.)

I don't know what's going on (not at all familiar with MMM either, so can't comment on that) but:
UOP Vampire Aging & Face Fix.esp [Version 1.0.0] <-- you don't need this any more, use the bashed patch tweak instead. ;)

I'm using 287 as well and not having any problems. I'm even on Win 7 :) Now I have had a couple of times when I tweaked the load order, had a look at the patch and didn't think I needed to rebuild it, and got the same problem as the OP - immediate crash. However in my case, I just had to rebuild my patch. It appears that 287 is a little more twitchy about rebuilding the patch after changes, even if you don't think they would affect your patch. I don't go overboard on imports and don't have any merges, so my patch is pretty basic. I've also edited my patch with TES4Edit to get the last few tweaks in there that I couldn't find settings for, but that's something for the Wrye thread. It just means I don't like rebuilding my patch too often :)

Not sure if this helps much, but you might try rebuilding your patch.

Oh, and btw, yes I think I did find a case where the tag was just set to faction, but WB disabled the mod when I imported the faction. I'm pretty sure it was WB and not me deselecting the mod for some reason, but I'm not 100% certain, so I haven't reported it. I just suggest you go through your load order after building the patch and make sure that all mods that should be activated are indeed activated.

Did you read what I wrote earlier?
When building the excact same patch casues crashes if built with 287 but not if built with 284, that's hardly jumping to conclusions.

Anyway, I've currently narrowed down the problem to the Tweak parts of Wrye Bash. Unchecking them the 287 Patch does not crash. I'll try to narow it down even further.

If I had to guess, the problem isnt with wrye, but with how one of the mods interacts with it. I forgot, but what features were added with between the two versions?

You may be right, but I suspect it doesn't have to do with new features since I tried both 284 and 287 with the excact same settings. So it's probably to do with a change in how one or more of the old Tweak settings are implemented in 287.
I'm currently narrowing down excactly which Tweak setting(s) cause the problems.

OK, I've found out what causes my game to crash when using the BP built by WB 287 - it's Mayu's Animation Overhaul Skeleton Tweaker, under Tweak Actors.

Nightwolfhunter, try rebuilding your Bashed Patch without using that Tweak setting and see if it works.

Nightwolfhunter, try rebuilding your Bashed Patch without using that Tweak setting and see if it works.


I recall another report of that skeleton tweaker causing issues. Don't remember where/when I read it, but since then I've made sure not to use that setting in my Bashed Patch.

Hyperbole like that does not help your case.

Given the fact that the vast majority of people are able to use Bash and have no issues, this points to something either in your configuration or a specific bug - and it's likely the skeleton tweaker. I for one have been using Bash since somewhere around version 100 and not once has the game crashed due to anything it[/b] did or didn't do but because of things [i]I did or didn't do when trying to shortcut things.
