So I have been doing all these other things and am level 22 and finally on the strip. I started checkin out benny and haven't talked to the bot he has hidden in his room yet. I figured I should go see what Mr House has to offer and when i get into the lucky 38 with the brotherhood of steel chick the robots attack me. I go upstairs to the penthouse and the screen says like disconnected or something and I can't even talk to house.. what am I doing wrong? I got combat armor on and I have done missions for the brotherhood of steel and for ncr but I haven't done anything to affect how Mr. House views me... somebody chime in.. does working all those missions for the NCR make me an automatic target for house?

You spoke to Mr. House before at all? Where did you leave off with the quest regarding Benny?

Did you do the Main Quest: Change In Management? There is a course of events during that quest where you can permanently affect your situation with Mr. House, but from what info you've given it doesn't sound like you went that far. Perhaps you were doing all the NCR quests like 'For The Republic'? If so it can also happen here.

I havent spoken to Mr. House at all. I haven't done that NCR mission in particular but I have been to 3 or 4 of the forts and larger positions they have had and done missions. I just popped benny in the head.. can't forgive somebody popping me in the head so I figure what the hell.

Have you talked to Victor by any chance?

Exact same thing just happened to me. I am lvl 27 and have finished the BOS, Boomers, the great khans, and just about all off the NCR stuff. I have Raul and EDE with me and am wearing regular power armor, not BOS armor. I have been no where in new vegas, literally zoned in, talked to victor, followed him to the lucky 38 and his face changed from cowboy to cop and we passed his corpse on the steps of the lucky 38. I zone in and get attacked. No clue.

He explains that he can put himself into the bodies of other bots while talking, but the robots should not be hostile. I dont know what it is.

I just read on another post that if you went to vault 11 first and killed the robots in the martyr room, where you go to die and get attacked by 6 tough robots after watching a long movie, you failed the quest for mr. house. The post goes on to say you can still complete the game via Mr. yes man. I really hope they fix this. Why killing robots that are trying to kill you ruins the main quest line I have no clue.

Yeh I did vault 11 before I came to New Vegas so I could complete more of the brotherhood of steel quest.

Stupid Vault 11 messed up faction allegiances.
