Are you talking about materials or types of weapons?

Well, we always need more weapons and armors. There should several sets of of weapon/armor of each material.

But in fact I don't worry about that too much. There will be mod. And I will make my own weapon and armor for fun ,just like the old days.

I think you are right about the material thing. Ebony, for example, could be crafted in mant styles. The same goes for steel, mithril, daedric(cursed(?) ebony) etc.
Having nordic and orcish forged steel(normal orcish armor is in fact this), ebony armor and weapons etc.
I hope they include many armor and weapon types of each material being a consolegamer I can't use mods.

One of the funny is making your own style armor/weapon , you could do that with 3dMAX or Maya . For me I would like to MAX.
And of course you could share the other modder's mods.

I'v a Xbox360 too but only buy the PC verson of TES seires coz the world of MOD is infinite. :-D

Unless I'm mistaken, you can craft your own weapons and armor using the smithing skill. So, "low" is not a word that comes to mind.

Well I wouldn't use that argument yet. It's not yet confirmed if we really get to "make our own gear" or just make some of the same models that you can find everywhere

and make light armor actually look like light armor . . . look at these sets from oblivion:

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:OB-item-Chainmail_Armor.jpg
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:OB-item-Mithril_Armor.jpg
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:OB-item-Elven_Armor.jpg
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:OB-item-Glass_Armor.jpg

that kind of design should be used for heavy armor, theres no way a fast, agile and sneaky character would wear any of these

light armor should be mainly jump suits with metal pauldrons and shinguards, stuff like that

What are we suppose to discuss? Okey, I hope there are a lot of variety in the weapons and armor... anyone disagree?
