Killing Nightskins'

Does anyone know what weapons are most effective against kightskins'?

I'm having a tough time doing any damage to them.

NIGHTKINS are easily dispatched with some HP ammo to the face.

They don't have armor as they are too big to wear anything other than makeshift clothing. Sure, it looks sturdy, but they rely on high HP rather than high DT.

Any decent weapon. If you have ED-D then it would be one of few rare occasion VATS would be useful

Nearly all animals have no DT. So any high DPS weapon will do.

For enemies with high DT you would need High Damage Weapons.

I used the rebar thing that they carry. I don't have high melee weapons stat, just used a stealth boy, the rebar thing, and it took about 5 to 6 hits to kill them. Sometimes 1, with a critical and surprise hit. And, since you're stealthy, they have a hard time finding you.

Alright I will definitely give this a try. i'm having such a hard time with them because you can't use V.A.T.S. on them.

Use V.A.T.S to find them then just Iron Sight one round to get their attention. This will usually cause them to come out of stealth where you can then use VATS to target them.

If you pair this while using a StealthBoy you can still get the sneak attack if they do not see you when you shoot at them.

Atleast this was my experience while investigating the Rocket Warehouse and cleaning out the basemant for Jason Bright.

With any of the heavy hitters in this game, I found it far easier to cripple them somehow, and then just blast away. I originally tried mines, but my explosive wasn't high enough so I entered VATS and then shot the hell out of their legs! I did the same with the death claws as well.

I believe OP meant Nightkin super mutant not Nightstalker vipergods.

You can't use VATS on Nightkin either while they have the stealth field active.

You can if you have ED-E.

wat wat wat

I'll have to check that. I know you can target, but it's 0% and it won't let you fire. ED-E shouldn't effect VATS accuracy.

I tried the bumper sword, and that didn't work so well. That rebar club was awesome, plus keeping a piece of equipment between you and them helps, if you switch to guns.
