[RELz] RefScope 2.0

Post » Sat Jul 10, 2010 2:15 am

Ugh, I've had that myself. The ring is equipped to the player if you have the mod running when you first make a character. Bit odd, but the player can wear non-playable stuff, assuming it's equipped to the player with a command or they have it when making their character, which equips all of the clothing you have for Cgen.
Get the code, and use player.unequip (code here), and you shouldn't have that problem.

Hmm... That sounds plausible, but I still can't reproduce it. If I start a new game with RefScope enabled right from the start, I still have both ring slots empty. Would one of you be able to send me a savefile that exhibits the problem, if I give you my email address?

I'm wondering whether there might be some other mod changing the rules for what clothing gets equipped automatically on the player. It seems strange that several people have reported this recently with RefScope, yet I've never seen or heard of it happening with other mods or with earlier versions of RefScope. Token rings are a fairly common technique, and there's nothing particularly special about this one, other than not having a mesh so it's obvious when it gets equipped somehow.

It shouldn't be a problem to make the ring unequip itself automatically, but I'd like to be able to reproduce the problem on my own system so that I'm not just taking a shot in the dark.

Sure, I'm still on a Fairly New game, with Little more than FCOM,.. (ArmaEveAerifacts, and Adonnay's)

In testing my mod I've started more than 15 new characters with RefScope active and have not had this mesh issue happen. With the new or older version.

I doubt that's related, but I'll take a look.

I've PMed you my email address so you can send me a save file. However, looking at the load order you posted earlier, it may take awhile for me to get things set up on my end to match yours. ("Little more than FCOM" is still a lot of mods, and there are many that I don't have yet.)

In the meantime, there are some additional things you can try that would help:

  • If you haven't already seen the problem with a brand-new just-started game (as YX33A alluded to), start a new game and see if the problem occurs there.
  • If it does, start several new games to see if it occurs consistently.
  • If you consistently get the RefScope targeting token equipped on your character at the start of a new game, disable all your mods other than RefScope and start another new game to see if that resolves it.
  • If disabling other mods resolves the problem, re-enable mods in groups of a few at a time, starting a new game after each group, to see which one(s) make it come back.

If the problem is being triggered by some other mod, that'll help determine which one it is. Also, if you do send me a save file, it'll help if it doesn't depend on as many mods.

It's going to take a little more than I'd thought, I disabled everything down to Vanilla, and didn't clear in the save, but it didn't show in a New either, so I'll keep trying with New games until it comes back...

I've got another issue I was trying to Isolate as well with a CM_Partner that likes to fight in the Buff, That one's still there as well...

*I'm haveing trouble with my email account as well :banghead:

**I couldn't get it to clear from the save game, then I tried renableing everything back to where I was, and Now I can't get it to Repeat, I've got the same load order, (and patch,) I started with but No Missing Mesh marker, I've tried starting Several new games, but ?? On top of that, my mail server won't let me send any email...

This was the Conscribe log, it's the same as reported in game, on Right Ring, normally it just says "No Item Equiped"

Thanks for this great mod, I'm mainly using it. I have some requests:

- Add some a functionality similar to "Display Stats" for weapons and armor to display stats infos in a window (not in the right menu when highlighting an item) to keep things minimal.
- Add some infos about the cell name and position where an item is located.
