My cousin sent me an email letting me know how to get free MS points. It didn't ask for any personal information and according to Web of Trust it's classified as a trustworthy website. Does this http://removed look fake?

I don't believe anything that claims it can get me for free what most people have to pay for.

I wouldn't know, I never click links like that. even here on the forums, you never know what is spam or not. call or contact your cousin about it, he might have gotten his account hacked or something and unknowingly sending spam messages to all his contacts. there is no such thing as free, even if legit they are getting something out of it and you should be sure to know exactly what they are getting before you do any thing.

Wasn't there that "free" MS point hack thing a while ago? My guess is either the site is similar to that, it doesn't work, or involves forcing you to watch ads to get a few MS points.

I was very skeptical at first but according to Web of Trust (a Google Chrome extension) it was trustworthy. I've actually contacted my cousin regarding the site, but he doesn't know if it's real and says he got it from his friend. <_<

I wouldn't say "Free is never free", but if a product usually costs money and it is being offered as free, it is almost certainly a scam.

even then thats genorocity, and then you are paying some one kindness by accepting it

that being said, OP, when was the last time a complete stranger offered you something free? with the emphasis that it would cost you nothing and that it was a painless little process, did you just walk past them? because that would be the best answer. especially on the internet.

EDIT: if your cousin doesn't even know himself then don't do it man... or woman... its not like your day will be ruined if you just pass it up. you lost nothing, but if you click it or whatever you might loose something like your identity or your computer (via virus)

My cousin just told me that you had to fill out a survey. So I'm not sure of its legitimacy but that sure doesn't sound free. :facepalm:
