For the top of the tower, you'll probably want to make it in a seperate (child) worldspace, and also reference the top in this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXWYWfFqlSw, putting it in a seperate worldspace will allow you to change the weather appropriately (in the teaser, you'll notice there's abit of snow) and add any other affects that might be cool (lighting in storms, etc), and also to make a 'complete' imperial city to see from the top (which might require abit of work, but will be worth it, because if you have it in the Palace District, you'll be able to see over the walls into the other districts, in which there is nothing and looks horrible, so by creating a child worldspace, all you then need to do is copy the main content of the other districts, the houses(LOD versions), wall sections, towers, etc and add them to it), you might also want to put up either invisible barriers (to stop people jumping off), or killzones before the bottom (so if people do jump off they don't go all the way to the bottom, which would ruin it given it would be low-quality).

I'm also currently doing the UV map alterations to the top of the tower, so it'll look much nicer now. I'll have it uploaded tommorrow, and you'll be able to include it in the mod :)

Cheers,
The Old Ye Bard

Putting it in a http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/World_space (to create a Child Worldspace, make a new Worldspace, and in the settings for it, select 'Tamriel' as it's parent worldspace) of the Tamriel worldspace WILL allow for farther viewing, as a 'Child' worldspace uses the LOD data of the parent worlspace (which would be tamriel), all the cities are in Child Worldspaces of the Tamriel Worldspace, and that's how they have the same LOD data :)

Also, here's the re-uvmapped Tower Top (http://yfrog.com/5eictowertopj and http://www.2shared.com/file/11420130/f099a1dd/ICTowerTop.html).

Sounds interesting! However, I?m wondering whether this is compatible with All Natural 0.98, since that mod seems to be (partially) incompatible with quite a lot of plugins that modify the imperial palace (according to the readme)?

Adding quarters for the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Assassination!, who weren't all in the Palace at the time of the assasination (or possibly, none of them were in the Palace), but they each would have had their own quarter's in the palace. Also, showing some more of the Ayleid influence in the tower, and a http://www.imperial-library.info/obscure_text/census_daedra.shtml during the Reman Empire (not that he does anymore, but for a time he did inhabit part of the tower, so something showing this would be cool).

Also mentioned http://www.imperial-library.info/obbooks/cherim_heart_anequina.shtml is that the Emperor has 15 (as of now, 10 then, in the book 5 more mentioned are being bought) tapestries made by Cherim.

Are there resources for said tapestries?
EDIT: Also, is your remapping of the top of White Gold Tower compatible with texture replacers for the IC?

You'dhave to either make them yourself, or get someone to make them, and most likely new models given the size, and they also have to be uniquely made, given they should be of actual events/wars in Tamriel. You'd probably need to get an ES fan artist to make the texture(s) (given the complexity, most texture artists won't be up to the challenge), and a modeler to make the tapestry model (which then could be retexed with each new tapestry). You'd need to firstly 1) make concept art for the tapestry, so the modeler knows what to model, and the [texture] artist knows the relative dimensions of the artwork needed, and you'd need then need to pick http://imperial-library.info/history/ for the tapestries to be of, and given they are/were owned by the Emperor, ones that are relative to Imperial interests (so conquests by Tiber Septim and wars during the Septim Empire, wars in the reman Empire, and the Alessian Empire, and during the Alessian Uprising).
For the concept you also need to consider how the tapestries will be used, obviously they can't be hung flat, given their size and that the Palace is round, so they would need to curve with the interior Palace walls, and other details similar to this need to be taken into account, etc.

Edit: and yes my remapping should be compatible, if a texture replacer replaces the floor in the interior of the tower, then it'll be replaced too :)

I would suggest looking on http://www.deviantart.com for a good artist, one who is familiar with TES (just search Elder Scrolls or TES and some are bound to come up), and the dimensions you'll need will probably by something like 2x1 (so say about 1024px by 2048px).

Updated! This mod is being overhauled, and has become modular. The first module is the throne room, which has just been released. let me know if there are any problems.
