Can all Daedra talk?

I know that in The Story of Battlespire there's a frost Daedroth talking and a scamp in Morrowind but can all Daedra speak even the ones with the lowest intelligence?

In battlespire all of the deadra can talk with varying levels of intelligence. in morrowind and oblivion there are several talkative deadra. They tend to be of the more humanoid types that are more talkative to humans. but I belive they all are capable of speach.

Its probably a matter of intelligence, as you very well put it.

Oh, and in battlespire, all the daedra you come across can speak. Of course, the most stupid say, well, stupid things.
So yea, at least from what I've seen they can all talk. Doesnt mean they are always willing though.

Battlespire seems to put across the idea that most Daedra, as well as beings like Atronochs which some argure are not true Daedra, are able to speak.

Subsequent games have had a limited number of talking Daedra, mostly of the more humanoid forms like Dremora, Golden Saint and Seducer but not always.

My theory is that most Daedra species have members who can talk, but not every one of them chooses to in all situations. For instance, why would a Daedroth who is trying to eat you stop and have a chat?

I always viewed the talking Dremora in oblivion NOT daedra. They just worship the daedra. They are dremora and simply put that is their species. Am i right or wrong there?

Oh yeah, i've never played battlespires, but i gues they can speak the same language as people from Tamriel. I never actually heard the actual daedric language in any of the TES games. In battlespires they speak english(or which ever country you bought the game) like the samps do and usually it's just mostly dialogue boxes like in morrowind.

I mean i don't expect Bethesda to actaully create an actual language for a daedroth. I mean it would be nice, but that would be pretty insane. if they did next thing you know you'll see a bunch of TES fans talking to each other in the daedric language...creating a sub culture of sorts...lol

You may be onto something there. Haskill seems to indicate in an interview that the term Daedra gets thrown around a lot, and that not all creatures commonly referred to as Daedra are or refer to themselves as such.

However having said that, the Dremora are Daedra. I strongly believe them to be, anyway. They've always been referred to as such, and there's really no reason to believe they aren't. They are said to be immortal on numerous occasions - meaning their bodies can be destroyed but they'll always rise in a new body.

Also, I doubt they actually worship Dagon in the way a mortal would. They serve Dagon because they respect his strength and what he stands for. It's said this wasn't always the case, however - and some of them serve other masters. Master Gothren of the Telvanni had two personal Dremora bodyguards, whom he presumably dominated with his mind and impressed with his powers in magic. The Tribunal Temple employed several Dremora, who were humbled and awed by Vivec and the Tribunal and chose to serve them.

Yes, but they seldom say anything worth hearing, that is, around a bottom feeding mortal such as yourself. Its best to indescriminately kill them.

I believe all real Daedra can speak the Daedric language, and most could likely communicate with Mortals. If the Dremora can, others could too. All Daedra seem to be equal on that level in my opinion.

Same here, they always felt like more an Oblivion-dwelling species that became indentured to Mehrunes Dagon, but are not actual manifestations of Daedric spirits. Then again, at the same time, Morrowind's Dremora feel like they are Daedra, in that they have that whole magical animated automaton look to them (like said game's Golden Saints).

Well, I always assumed that the Oblivion Dremora are Daedra. After all, there was a book on Daedric views on mortals, which was written by a Dremora (Presumably).

I thought they were, because they can't "die". They just get re-done back into Oblivion. They are immortal beings, and immortal beings must be:

A) Aedra

B) Daedra

C) Another Deity (Sithis, etc.)

or

D) A lich (but they are not completely immortal), or something of that matter.

Therefore the Dremora are most likely to be Daedra.
