No longer able to Wait or go to 3rd person

Post » Mon Jul 26, 2010 2:54 am

Hi all,

I've got about 100 hours on FNV so far (I say that with a bit of shame as well as pride) and aside from the "human npc face slowdown" thing, which the .dll thing fixed, I haven't had any other issues besides the random CTDs.

Until now, that is. This is my second character, and all of a sudden, I can no longer switch to third person (either using F or the mousewheel) and I can no longer Wait, using T. I've tried rebinding the controls, saving/loading, restarting the game, and rebooting my computer, but nothing has fixed it. I loaded my first character and everything works fine.

Did my savegame get corrupted somehow, or what? Any help would be appreciated.

Ditto, the exact symptoms I'm "enjoying". :brokencomputer:

I figured it could be a "mod" I installed, but I removed it, and still no dice. :shakehead:

Well, odd as it is, the problem somehow magically fixed itself. I noticed that it was back to normal after a certain quest that involves what I call a "reset" - when the HUD disappears and reappears after whatever the event was concludes - and now everything is back to normal. Perhaps visiting a doctor and having some treatment done will fix it? I can't remember which ones involve the HUD reset and which do not (addiction cure, rads cure, regular healing). Could be worth a shot, though you'd have to cough up the caps.

Sounds like player controls get disabled and not enabled in a timely manner then another unrelated instance of Enable/DisablePlayerControls re-enables the disabled control paramaters.
To confirm, can someone who's experiencing this ~
EnablePlayerControls 1 1 1 1 1 1 1
...and see if everything returns to normal? When did the controls get disabled, that is, when did the problem arise?

Are you sure it was over just fast traveling or had you maybe been fixed up by a doctor or something?
