Heya guys i'm reading the book the infernal city and sometimes it's kinda confusing to me. I'm not so much of a lore expert, I know some of the lore but not all. So I was reading the book and somewhere on page 31 Anna?g has a conversation with her father about the "city" and wether they should be affraid or not. Then he says; "It's nothing to worry about. If it's dangerous the An-Xileel will meet it with the same might that drove the Empire out of the Black Marsh and the Dunmer out of Morrowind" mabey i'm just miss interpretating, english isn't my first language, but what did the argonians had to do in Morrowind?
So my questions are; who is Vuhon/and Umbra? Why did Vivec leave, I thought he first saved the people of Morrowind and then a few years later it seems like he doesn't care anymore and he'll just call it quits and leaves them to death? And why did the Argonians invade Morrowind? It doesn't make any sence that they invade an island which is destroyed? Why would they drive out the dunmer anyways? Besides all this, for what reason did the Nords and Orcs teamed up and atacked Morrowind?
Anna?g's father speaks of it as if the An-Xileel were hero's for driving the dunmer out of morrowind but I don't seem to understand why. I understand why he would speak of the An-Xileel, driving out the empire out of the black marsh, in such a way but using the two examples in one sentence is kind of confusing I think?
The An-Xileel are essentially a militant cult which has come to power in Northern Blackmarsh

When the Neravarine (you in "Morrowind") destroyed the Heart of Lorkhan the Tribunal (Vivec, Almalexia, Sotha Sil) essntially lost their link to that which made them god-like strong. This weakening caused Vivec's control over the Ministry of Truth to falter as he grew weaker and weaker; to my knowledge, we should assume he is still alive at this point. It's hard to go much father than this because I'm not sure how far into the story you are, but is all explained.
Spoiler The Ministry of Truth is the "Oblivion Moon" which hovers above the Temple in Vivec City. Though it is refered to as a moon, it would more accurately be described as a meteor which Vivec, in all his power, prevented from hitting the city by stopping it in it's tracks and holding it in place. As it is described later, his stopping it is a constant effort, and though it appears motionless it retains it's initial inertia (momentum/velocity) meaning, should Vivec ever lose control it'll still crash into the city with the speed and force of a falling meteor.
As Vivec grew weaker, his control of the Ministry faltered, so Vuhon, one of Vivec minions or priests or something, used the soul of Umbra (a super powerful dude who was trapped in a sword (which you can actually get in Morrowind)) to create a device (the ingenium) to help Vivec maintain control. One problem, it had to devour souls to function. This was all well and good as long as it was consuming the souls of peasants and nobodys, but when it came time to eat a certain soul someone got mad and destroyed it (this person shall remain nameless so as not to ruin the story).
Spoiler It was at this moment that Vivec's power failed completely and the Ministry crashed into Vivec City utterly destroying it and (I believe) killing Vivec. Red Mountain erupted as a result of the impact and everything went to hell in a handbasket.
In the chaos which resulted the recently formed An-Xileel invaded Morrowind to exact thir vengeance on the Dunmer who had oppressed and enslaved their people for so long. They essentially scattered the Dunmer to the winds and conquered what remained of Morrowind.
Edit: I honestly do recall any mention of Vivec "leaving" I just assume he was getting weaker and lost control.
