Bar Fights

Did you ever come across 2 Imperial foresters (I think that's what they're called) near Bruma that have a looooong battle to the death with bows? Hopefully these things will be a minimum in Skyrim.

yeah one of them shot my horse so it decided to join in

Yes, and not only was it stupid fun to watch, I always got their armor when one died.

It was a good way for a very low level archer to get a decent bow and steel arrows I suppose. Their insults to eachother were funny considering the context of them both being Imperial Forresters.

Bar fights, a good idea. As someone already told, "the witcher" had bar fights where you got some good rewards. Lets say you manage to knock down the village's troublemaker and some new quests occure or you get promoted as a leader of a gang. And of course, you need to be very strong to manage to knock down the tough ones and maybe mage chars are too weak (read: bar fights for fighters).

Would using lightning bolts be considered cheating in a bar fight?

If you can get drunk in Skyrim, bar fights have to be in.

Maybe they can have a fighting sport where both contestants fight each other in a pit without legal issues.

As much as I'd like to see a broken bottle wedged firmly into someone's groin, I don't know why this would have to be limited to bars. Can't you fight anywhere?

Yes, you start a duel. Start one in the bar after drinking mead, that would be good enough for a drunken bar fight for me (also you need to use your hands.)
