And it's in a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temperate right? So it's winters would be mild and the summers would be humid, but not severely hot. Even though wizards and magicians may have a say on how the weather is, I'm guessing they don't affect all areas of it; probably just the areas in which they live. Why would a wizard care about the weather 200 away?
