Okay, a question about the FCOM install: I am hesitant to clean, with TES4edit, any files in the FCOM install. However, I've read on the CS Wiki that Oblivon War Cry should always be cleaned. I'm using War Cary 109 (latest version) and running it through TES4edit identified 30+ "confilcts". Do I clean this .esp?

This, the OOO.esp, ArmamentariumLL4OOO.esp, and Bob's Armory Oblivion.esp are the others I clean. Is this correct? Have I overlooked any others?

Have you checked with just OOO and Cobl and OOO 1.32 Cobl and Waterfish nothing else. To verify that problem exist with just those and not with something else from fcom etc.

Do you still have same problem ?

Did you check your bashed patch settings and make sure that you are importing inventory etc, and OOO 1.32 Cobl is active in load order.


I checked with just OOO 1.34 beta 5 (with Waterfish) and OOO 1.32 Cobl. The problem goes away when you disable Waterfish, which isn't a big deal since the whole point behind the console command is to turn off fish anyway.

I did not try it with just the Waterfish ESP without the rest of OOO and Cobl if that's what you're asking. I was actually relieved that the bug was not as big as I thought, so I resumed my playing.

Not really unexplained, actually. I think he would say, if he were here, that his family life is more important to him now.

And yes, he is surely one of the great modders of ES IV. And, more importantly, a wonderful person.

Unexplained? The 'disappearance' has been addressed numerous times: RL happens from time to time ... to most of us. Appreciate and agree with the sentiment--we all miss him (and many other great modders who have moved on)--but there is no need to bring it up again, or dwell on it. FCOM continues--it is not dead or abandoned ... the dev_akm Team has done, and will continue to do, its best to support and develop it in the same spirit.

Yes, you are right, and I am happy that many great modders are active and still developing FCOM, and the great mods in the project, people like Corepc, Arkngt and others, and I am grateful for their work ... But I can't help a feeling of sadness sometimes when I see that someone important to the community is no longer active :( .

I still hope that maybe dev_akm will find the time in the future to come back, that would be very nice :)

Yes, I surely miss dev_akm, Martigen and Sotobrastos - they're not only amazing modders but also wonderful persons, so even if their legacy is continued by other excellent modders/persons I still miss their presence here. Also, following the development of those mods, I'm convinced that the two are deeply connected, e.g. that the mods became so great in large part because all three of them are so open minded, positive, constructive, open for feedback etc.

Modding seems to be all or nothing, at least with projects on such scale. It's like either dev_akm put in all his free time, day in and day out for OOO/FCOM - or nothing. Hard to find a working middle ground there I'd guess.

Anyway, the show must go on.

Ok, so this time I am trying to do a PERFECT install of FCOM, as bugs have been far to common. I have followed this guide before religiously only to encounter problems and hear that some mods in my load order were "out of date" etc. DESPITE following all the links here.


Basically here is what I have found=
There is ZERO explaination or links to the updates for everything regarding the UNofficial Patches and updates. FCOM installers have no idea there is even an update to the UNofficial patches or which of these to use= http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17621


Please let me know which UNofficial patches I should download (and in what order) for FCOM. I am trying to follow the guide and I dont want to proceed past this step without downloading the correct patches etc.


Here is what I have done so far=

Now according to the guide I should=
DLCs & UOMP, Francesco's Leveled Creatures Items, OOO 1.33 and OOO 1.34 beta5 (patch requires OOO 1.33 Full. Full version only ATM), Oblivion WarCry and the WarCry 1.085b and WarCry 1.09 patches, Bob's Armory 1.1 and Loth's Blunt Weapons for NPC's (opt), Armamentarium and Artifacts (opt), Martigen's Monster Mod 3.7b3, Cobl (opt), MMM 3.7b3 Cobl Update (opt, if applicable), Cobl Races or Race Balancing Project (opt), FCOM 9.9 beta and UFCOM, the FCOM_WarCry 109 update, OMOBS1_0, Other Mods, Body Replacers, Texture Replacers.



But this is NOT the case. I need to download and install further UNofficial patches etc. from http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17621


Can someone please tell me which UNofficial patches etc. I need and omobs thingies i need? I would prefer a list order with links like the one I posted above if possible. Feel free to use my list above on the FCOM instalation guide page too, its far more user friendly and specific. =)

Just follow the guide in the opening post. If you want, you can use the very latest http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27710 rather than Quarn & Kivan UOP 3.2.0 linked to in the opening post. So: UOP 3.2.0 is required, but use the latest supplemental if you want the additional fixes it has. Note that the current FCOM releases don't reflect the changes made in the latest supplemental release, which is one reason why the OP links to the "original" UOP 3.2.0. But we're talking such minor overlaps here that a normal player wouldn't notice them anyway.

One upside with using standalone OMOBS is that you can go for the normal releases of the UOP's - you don't need USIP MOBS or whatever. So what the opening post says, basically, but up to you if you go for UOP 3.2.0 or 3.2.10.

You're welcome. Also, Tes4Mod:FCOM has a list of mods with http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tes4Mod:FCOM#MOBS.2FOMOBS_Weapons. You might want the Updated Official DLC MOBS patches, for example. I wouldn't say that these OMOBS/MOBS patches are required really - and the opening post is long enough as it is so not the place to go into too much details regarding that IMO. The focus there should be to get a core FCOM game up and running rather than the most complete FCOM game with extra everything.

Well after nearly 16+ hours of getting all my mods in order and creating a bashed patch, I loaded up Oblivion just fine. Then, BOOM! CTD every time I try and create a New Game. =(

Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Please dont ask for a reinstall of Oblivion, I have done it so many times that I honestly would just dump the game at that point. I did use BOSS for the load order (with up to date masterlist).

Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Please dont ask for a reinstall of Oblivion, I have done it so many times that I honestly would just dump the game at that point. I did use BOSS for the load order (with up to date masterlist).


I am not sure if this will cure your CTD issue, but a few tips:
I don't think that using Deadly Reflex alongside AFC is a good idea...
++ Mart's Monster Mod - Diverse Runeskulls Loot G&GD.esp [Version 3.7b3p3] should not be used - use "Diverse Runeskulls -OOO Loot.esp" instead, per corepc's earlier tip to me.
++ OOO-Magic_Script_Effect_Fix.esp [Version 1.33] is not needed.
3E Mart's Monster Mod - More Wilderness Life.esp [Version 3.7b3p3] is not needed (per corepc's earlier tip to me).

Also, once through BOSS, what does the BOSS log say? It should have some notes - did you follow the recommendations listed there?
Installing tons of mods together at the same time is NOT a good idea when starting FCOM - it leads to pain. I just hope you used BAIN to install the mods, otherwise troubleshooting ttakes forever.

2. I have no idea where to get= Diverse Runeskulls -OOO Loot.esp
3. I have removed all the other mods mentioned including Mart's Monster Mod - Diverse Runeskulls Loot G&GD.esp
4. I followed all the BOSS notes, though BOSS gave virtually NO info about the major quest mods, and these mods are some of the biggest downloads in Oblivion. No files were UNrecognized though.
5. I did not use Bain to install, I dont know what BAIN is, I have heard it mentioned a few times as the "new" thing, but I thought it was still being tested. No mods you download even hint at BAIN, only OMODs and OBMM.

Usually, FCOM should be installed after the other quest mods. If you used oBMM, hopefully you used TheNiceOne's OMOD script to install FCOM. That way, you will get the appropraite pattches that FCOM has for some quest mods.

BAIN is Wrye Bash's installer - see that installer tab on the top left when you open Wrye Bash to create your Bashed patch?- that is where the magic happens. See the Wrye Bash readme for more details.

Three days ago I posted this question but didn't get an answer. I'm thinking it was overlooked, but maybe there is no answer. This is the text of the question, with clarification:

Okay, a question about the FCOM install: I am hesitant to clean, with TES4edit, any files in the FCOM install. I've been told that no files in the FCOM install should be cleaned. However, I've read on the CS Wiki that Oblivon War Cry should always be cleaned. On that same page, it says to clean parts of MMM which I know shouldn't be cleaned. Since I'm using War Cary 109 (latest version) and running it through TES4edit identified 30+ "confilcts". S do I clean this .esp?

This, the OOO.esp, ArmamentariumLL4OOO.esp, and Bob's Armory Oblivion.esp are the others I clean. Is this correct? Have I overlooked any others?


Also, I'm considering installing the Real Swords by Walx, including the Legendary swords, but I know at least some of them are included in FCOM. Is there any reason for installing the Real Swords Compilation or are all these swords included in FCOM?

1. I have FCOM as an OMOD, should I deactivate it and reactivate it now that I have all my quest mods? Ill try that.
2. I will try deleteing Oblivion.ini
3. As far as I know I have no alternate start mods, though EnterTheShinobi does add ninjas in addition to mythic dawn, that could be it.

Well after nearly 16+ hours of getting all my mods in order and creating a bashed patch, I loaded up Oblivion just fine. Then, BOOM! CTD every time I try and create a New Game. =(

Here is my load order= (its preety Huge as I grabbed a ton of quest mods etc. that I saw from the 50 steps ot CTD free FCOM thread)


Crash on startup, BSA not named correctly reanme MMM.bsa to FCOM_Convergence_Mart's Monster Mod.bsa
Crash on Character Exit, Cobl Races is picky about
You should have tested FCOM byitself first before throwing all those mods in.

CS WIKI is not up to date once again

You should not clean them has I will examine them and clean what is needed once again. The Warcry 1.09 all that is some armor records that are duplicate records is all. I meant to remove them in 1.09 release but I forget about them.

You should not clean OOO for sure, because some of it changes are intended and injected. Same way with MMM or ArmamentariumLL (which would not be dirty, only changes weapons and armor and leveledlist. Some duplicate records from esm but that is for compatiblity reasons. )


P.P.S. I can not find= Diverse Runeskulls -OOO Loot.esp, can you provide a link to the download? I searched the release thread and plugin page for it.

It is in MMM 3.7b3 Download Itself - Mart's Monster Mod - Diverse Runeskull Loot for OOO.esp


1. it was named FCOM_Convergence_MMM.bsa but I renamed it to FCOM_Convergence_Mart'sMonsterMod.bsa as you said

2. I used the omod of MM and it didnt load up, so I unzipped a sperate MMM373 file and took out that .esp and deleted the rest


Rebuilding the bashed patch now, here's hoping! =)


UPDATE_____
Game still loads up fine, then CTD when I try and make a New game.

If using FCOM I guess it would not be a good idea to install Real Swords, since dev/akm balanced them for a FCOM game, although Walx was not happy about the name changes...

__________UPDATE_____
I FINALLY found the problem! Took out FCOM and Frans and tried just MMM and OOO, but still CTD when making a new character! Then I decided to unistal Oblivion XP, and HURAYY it worked!


SO now I will try and load back all the other mods and FCOM sans Oblivion XP. On the bright side this means I can load up Unnecessary Violence again.

If using FCOM I guess it would not be a good idea to install Real Swords, since dev/akm balanced them for a FCOM game, although Walx was not happy about the name changes...
