When mod AI packages go wrong...

Post » Thu Aug 05, 2010 9:36 am

I installed BFGs Enhanced Armory and Wandering Encounters on top of my current load list...I don't know what other mods in my list could cause this. I don't have the major overhauls of OOC, MMM, or FCOM.

I left my inn room, heard shouts in the market place, and ran to the gate.

I watched until the madness disease spread, as the fighting amongst the citizens of IC http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e7/brygdom/Oblivion/c790b200.jpg.

Loot laying all over the place, especially with the BFG mod causing what seems to be premature NPC armor ejaculation :P, with armor laying all over the place....definitely going to have to figure this one out.

Start with posting your load order...

I'd check the NPCs in BFGs Enhanced Armory and Wandering Encounters, like their Aggression, Factions and AI Packages. It could be something as trvial as one of them stealing something due their Eat package, and getting caught by the owner of the food/container or the guards.

I wasn't really looking for a load order fix. I was posting for laughs, for now.

I do have TIE. Doesn't that have some kind of AI list?

So if one person steals the entire city starts a riot with this setup?

BFG is not NPC but armor related. I just mentioned it because of the lack of armor you see on the NPCs, with it laying on the ground.

What's that backpack from in the Market District shot?

EDIT: Is it 'Inventory is a Backpack'? Just did a quick search.

It could since NPCs of the same faction will help each other.
This is the reason the Radiant AI was so nerfed compared to the much more complex AI that was seen in the trailers for Oblivion - things got too bloody...

This is actually a bug that can occur in the vanilla game, with all official patches applied. Happened to me once when a Mythic Dawn agent drew on me - it ended up with guards fighting each other and slaughter spreading all about the Temple District. The practical solution in that case turned out to be killing the Mythic Dawn dude before bystanders could get involved. This is not necessarily related to any mods, at least in the strict sense. Disposition modifiers on modded NPCs, however, may be related.

Happens most often in those situations where guards came to help, and one accidentally hit another too many times. It's a snowball effect from there.

Well it is funny. :)
It's always great when those kind of things happen. It helps detract from the main game and witness AI going wrong. :foodndrink:

In my defense, the problem with the armor being shed too quickly has since been fixed. :)
