I caught something Sawyer said toward the end of the video, (to be specific, right before the clip of the speculated .223 pistol). He said that it didnt matter if you helped NCR, Ceasars Legion, Great Khans, or Kings, joining any of them would cause a big difference in the game. And since before the devs had said that the Legion and NCR are competing for control of Vegas, I wonder if you could side with a sub faction and that would lead to that sub faction beating out the big ones and taking control. Do you think this sounds reasonable or am I just over-thinking it?

I do not think smaller factions such as "the Kings" will be able to take on the bigger ones.

Id help BOS and Enclave come to power and wipe out both CL/NCR and then reunite the wasteland fued BOS vs Enclave and have them fight for control of new vegas.

One of the comments from the Devs re the BOS was "If you can find them..." Apparently they're good at hiding.

I would follow in your path and do exactly that!
