Couple questions.

1. Does anyone know if you get more XP playing on Very Hard like in Fallout 3? If so, has it been turned down?

2. Considering that there are over 180 quests, do you think Obsidian took into account that even with Fallout 3's limited amount of quests, you hit the cap too quickly? I mean with that many quests, unless they tweaked it, you'll hit the cap WAY too fast.

3. Do you think the game as a whole will be more challenging?

1. Pretty sure no info has been released on that. More than likely they haven't removed it.

2. Well, I'm pretty sure a huge amount of those quests are unmarked, and since unmarked quests didn't net you XP for completing them in Fallout 3, I doubt they are going to change that. Anyway, one of the devs said that it is a really hard thing to reach level 30.

3. With hardcoe mode and a hopefully properly balanced game, New Vegas has the potential to be much harder than Fallout 3 by doing things besides bullet sponge enemies.

1. Why do you say more than likely they haven't?

2. Where did a dev say that?

3. Didn't one of the devs say that either increased difficulty or hardcoe mode increased AI efficiency?

1. No real reason. If the game is genuinely much harder than Fallout 3 on the same settings, then I'm guessing they would want to reward the player some extra XP.

2. Dammit, can't find the source right now. I'll search for it some more.

3. Can't recall that.

I agree..It svcks to reach the level cap that fast. It would be really surprising if they have not changed it in new vegas.
Maybe they want us to replay the game a couple of times and make other characters?

And i dont think the game will be more challenging. I think it will be more of the same, because it would be a dumb move to not to preserve the successful formula of fallout 3.

They probably lowered the quest XP since there's 3x more of them.

But I think Obsidian said they heard the complaints of many Fallout 3 players when they said F3 was too easy. It would make sense since they added ironsights which was wanted by many people.

I doubt it, but like the guy above said, you probably get less XP because there are alot more quests. Which would make sense, but still... I hope you don't hit the cap in like 2 days like in 3.

I hope your predictions are right, I always seem to stop playing a game when I reach level cap.

Lakelurks appear to simply be mirelurks who can live in fresh, pure water
(regular mirelurks die in pure water)
